Cowplants are available in The Sims 4 base game. Your Sim can plant a Cowplant Berry seed, water it and grow it into a Cowplant.
Having a plant monster in your garden is really fun.
Cowplants are useful for killing Sims you don’t like, among other things.
Let’s explore how Death by Cowplant occurs and how you can trigger the event to get rid of unwanted Sims fast.
What happens when a Cowplant eats a Sim?
If your Sim eats the Cowplant cake once, the Cowplant will swallow them and then spit them out. Your Sim will be covered in green goo and get the Drained moodlet for two days.
Sims that get eaten by a Cowplant will also learn to Fear the Great Cowplant and get the Looming Dread fear.
They’re too afraid to get near plants and tend their garden.
No matter where your Sim looks, the Cowplant is always there. Its saliva burned into the frightening memory of the encounter. That piece of cake just wasn’t worth it.
After eating a Sim, your Cowplant will have a large udder. You can milk it and get a glass of milk flavored with the emotion your Sim had when it got eaten.
If your Sim drinks the milk, they will get that emotion back.
You can remove the Drained moodlet by having your Sim drink a glass of Cowplant milk. They’ll get that emotion instead of being Drained.
If your Sim gets eaten again by a Cowplant while having the Drained moodlet, they’ll die on the spot. You’ll see their tombstone near the Cowplant.
Your Sim needs to be eaten twice to experience the phenomenon known as Death by Cowplant.
If Autonomy is on, Sims will autonomously go after a Cowplant’s cake if they are hungry.
⇒ Fun Fact:
Toddlers and children are immune to Death by Cowplant.
Toddlers can’t interact with Cowplants.
Children cannot eat the cake that a Cowplant sticks out when hungry. However, they can play with Cowplants and milk them.
Let your Cowplant starve
The key to triggering Death by Cowplant is to let the Cowplant starve for 12 in-game hours.
Cowplants get hungry about every 12 hours. If you don’t feed it, it will put out the cake.
If you don’t feed your Cowplant for 24 hours, it will die. You’ll get a dead Cowplant stem with a hanging skull.
How do you survive being eaten by a Cowplant?
You don’t have to do anything special to survive after being eaten by a Cowplant for the first time. The Cowplant will spit your Sim out.
To keep your Sim alive, prevent them from eating the Cowplant cake twice. If they get eaten again while having the Drained moodlet, they’ll die on the spot.
But you can still bring them back from the dead.
When the Grim Reaper shows up on your lot, have another Sim offer him a Death Flower and ask him to spare the life of the unfortunate Sim.
