To trigger Death by Vending Machine in The Sims 4, use the Shake interaction when the vending machine gets stuck and won’t give you the snack you ordered.

Your Sim will jump on the machine attempting to shake it, but chances are it will tip over and crush them.

However, your Sim won’t die just yet. They’ll just get the Battered & Bruised moodlet.

If your Sim shakes the vending machine again while the Battered & Bruised moodlet is still active, the vending machine will crush them to death this time around.

The ghost of a Sim that was killed by a vending machine has a can of juice inside their chest.

Kids are immune to Death by Vending Machine. They can’t shake the machine when snacks get stuck inside it.

As a quick reminder, this type of death is specific to Snowy Escape.

There are four models of buyable vending machines in Snowy Escape. If you attend the Mt. Komorebi’s festivals, you’ll find three additional models there.

The inventory of the vending machines changes every day at midnight.

How to revive a Sim that was killed by a vending machine

If you feel sorry for your Sim and want to bring them back to life, you can use cheat codes to get the job done.

Here are the steps to follow:

  1. Press Ctrl, Shift, and C to open the Cheat Console
  2. Type in testingcheats true to enable cheat codes
  3. Then, type in traits.remove_trait ghost_vendingmachine

This cheat code will remove the ghost trait that indicates your Sim was crushed to death by a vending machine. They’ll instantly come back to life.

Speaking of deaths specific to Snowy Escape, did you know that rock climbing can be deadly in The Sims 4?

Sims that don’t have the climbing skills necessary to conquer the mountain will often slip and fall to their death.
