How can vampires die in The Sims 4?

Sims-4-vampire-deaths

Vampires in The Sims 4 can die from sunlight, energy depletion, fire, drowning, electrocution, poison, or trauma. They can also die after being eaten by a Cowplant, or after getting attacked by sharks, flies, and evil chickens.

How to kill a vampire in Sims 4

Sunlight

Vampires that are not immune to sunlight or don’t have the Thin-Skinned trait, will die under direct sunlight in less than two minutes. They’ll burn to a crisp from sun exposure.

To prevent that from happening, you can craft a Sunlight Reversal Drink after reaching Level 11 of Vampire Lore. You can also unlock the Perfect Sun Resistance after reaching the Master rank.

Alternatively, you can also use cheats to unlock this ability instantly.

By the way, Sunlight Drowning can also kill your vampire. To trigger this death, have your vampire Sim swim under direct sunlight.

Their vampiric energy will quickly get depleted, leading to drowning.

Fun Fact:

Poison

If you have Jungle Adventure installed, keep in mind that vampires can die of poison. The Poison Curse will kill them within 3 days after being cast upon them.

If your vampire Sim passes through a Poison Gate, this will trigger an intoxication that can lead to poison. The same thing happens if they get hit by poison darts, get bitten by spiders, or are stung by bees.

You can use an antidote to cure poison. You can either buy it from the computer or have a local craft it using Bone Dust. To dispel the Poison Curse, you can donate 250 Simoleons to the Statue Of Madre Cosecha.

Fire

If your vampire Sim is near an object that’s on fire, chances are the flames will engulf them as well.

Vampires can catch on fire if they touch a Lava Bomb before it cools, interact with Fire Flies in the jungle, get the Spontaneous Combustion Curse, or try to pass through a Fire Gate in the jungle.

If the rocket ship catches fire and crashes, vampires will get engulfed in flames and die.

Electrocution

If a vampire has just been electrocuted, they can die if they touch any electronic devices. The best solution to avoid that is to refrain from touching electronic devices for a while. Additionally, call a handyman and have them repair any broken electronics.

If you have Discover University, keep in mind that Sims often get electrocuted during  Robotics Workshops.

If you have Seasons installed, vampires will die of electrocution after two lightning strikes. Stay inside during thunderstorms, don’t chase storms.

If you have Jungle Adventure installed, and your vampire gets the Electrocution Curse, they’ll get random electrocutions for 3 days straight which will kill them.

The same thing happens if they try to pass through an Electric Gate.

Crushed by Murphy bed or vending machines

If you have Tiny Living installed, vampires can die from Murphy Bed Failure.  If you have Snowy Escape, they’ll die if they get crushed by a vending machine three times in a row.

Vampires can also die from fall damage while climbing the Croft Icefall.

After being eaten by a Cowplant or Mother Plant

Your vampire will die if they get eaten by a cowplant twice. Don’t let the cowplant ingest your vampire to prevent this awful death from occurring.

If you have Strangerville installed, the Mother Plant will eat your vampire alive the second time they fight her.

To prevent that from happening, prepare vaccines beforehand, and get help before attempting to fight her.

Getting attacked by sharks, flies, and evil chickens

If you have Island Living installed, shark attacks can be fatal for vampires. Get out of the water as soon as a shark has been spotted.

If you have Eco-Lifestyle installed, a swarm of vicious flies can suffocate or even devour your vampire Sim.

The good news is that this death only occurs on lots with the Reduce and Recycle trait. Vampires are safe on lots that don’t have this trait.

If you have Cottage Living installed, evil chickens can attack and kill vampires. The first fight is not lethal.

You can still avoid Death by Evil Chicken simply by walking away. If your vampire gets attacked again, they’ll get killed.

⇒ Quick Tip: Vampires can get killed by the Wishing Well too.

List of deaths that vampires are immune to in Sims 4

Vampires are immune to almost half of the in-game deaths in The Sims 4. However,  they’re not immortal.

They’ll never die of old age, starvation, extreme temperature, exhaustion, or extreme emotions.

Starvation or thirst

Vampires can’t die of thirst. If they get extremely thirsty, they’ll attack the nearest Sim autonomously, even if you fully control them.

Vampires are immune to Death by Pufferfish. They’ll get a bit nauseous, especially if they have a Withered Stomach, but they’ll be fine after a while.

Extreme temperature

Vampires are immune to extreme temperature changes. If you have Spa Day installed, they can’t die from sauna overheating. If you have Seasons installed, they won’t die from extreme cold or extreme heat.

Aging

Once vampires have reached young adulthood, they get the Ethernal Youth trait. Vampires can’t die of old age because they stop aging after reaching adulthood.

If you have Seasons installed, vampires can quickly age up due to Death-Scented Flower Arrangements. However, they won’t go past elderhood.

They’ll simply become old immortal vampires.

Exhaustion and Drowning

Vampires typically can’t drown, except when you make them swim under direct sunlight. They can’t die of overexertion either.

If you have Discover University installed, you can Research Machine for as long as you want. Vampires will only get bad moodlets, they don’t die from Research Machine Overuse.

Extreme emotions

Vampires have intrinsic immunity to extreme emotions. While normal Sims can die of Hysteria, Rage, and Mortification, they are immune to extreme swings of emotions.

This means they’re immune to Emotional Deaths.

As you can see, vampires are immune to many of the 34 potential death causes from The Sims 4.

Happy Simming!
