If your Sim has a green thumb, they can plant various seeds and grow plenty of plant types. The Cowplant is one such plant but growing it is not that easy.

In this guide, we’ll tell you everything you need to know about caring for a Cowplant and keep it healthy and strong all the time.

How can I get a Cowplant in Sims 4? If you want to grow a Cowplant, you must first find a Cowplant Berry and then plant if as you would normally plant any other seeds.

You can find the Cowplant Berry through fishing, treasure digging, space exploration or harvesting by grafting a dragonfruit with a snapdragon. By far, the easiest way to get your hands on a Cowplant Betty is through fishing.

There is no specific gardening level required in order to plant and grow a Cowplant.

Cowplant growth stages

The Cowplant goes through three different growth stages:

  • Horn
  • Stem
  • Full Grown plant where you can directly interact with the plant. There are six interaction types available: Feed, Play, Eat Cake, Collect Sample, Milk and Pet.

How Do You Take Care of a Cowplant in Sims 4?

You need to feed your Cowplant every 12 hours. Otherwise, the plant will stick out its cake-shaped tongue and try to feed on your Sims. If it does not get fed 12 hours after sticking out the cake, it will wither and die.

So, if you want to keep your Cowplant alive, don’t forget to feed it every 12 hours.

Cowplants can indeed be really difficult to maintain, especially if your Sim has an external career and spends most of their time at the office.

A Sim who does not have an external career should have no problem feeding the Cowplant at least twice a day. Ideally, you should feed the Cowplant four times a day or every six hours.

Feed the Cowplant or Eat the Cake

Regular Sims can interact with the Cowplant in two different manners: they can Feed the Cowplant, or Eat the Cake. If they chose to eat the cake, the plant will most likely devour them and your Sim will get the visit of the Grim Reaper.

Sims killed by Cowplants will also  leave the Essence of Life behind which other sims can milk it and add a few days to their lifespan.

If the plant spits your Sim out, they won’t die but will leave behind an essence of the mood they were in when the plant tried to eat them. Other Sims can then milk the Cowplant to get the respective mood.

In most of the cases, your Sim won’t die if they eat the cake of the Cowplant the first time. Usually, it takes two attempts to kills your Sims with the Cowplant’s cake.

As you can see, Cowplants are a great and quick way to kill the Sims you don’t really like.

How do you get a Cowplant? The quickest way to get a Cowplant is through fishing for Cowplant Berry in the Oasis Springs Park waters or the Forgotten Grotto waters.

How do you graft a Cowplant ? In order to graft a Cowplant, you need to first plant a Dragonfruit and a Snapdragon. Then, wait until the fruits grow and take cuttings of each fruits. Graft one plant with the cutting of another and you’ll get the Cowplant Berry.
