The Sims 4: How to trigger Death by Overexertion

The-Sims-4-Death-by-Overexertion

To trigger Death by Overexertion in The Sims 4, have elder Sims exercise until they become Dangerously Tired. Then, have them woohoo to overexert them.  They’ll become exhausted by the time they finish woohooing.

You’ll then get a notification about your Sim dying from overexertion.

The idea is to push their limits by having them engage in additional activities again until they drop dead.

Interestingly enough, it’s male Sims that will almost always die from overexertion first.

How I trigger Death by Overexertion in The Sims 4

The way I like to quickly trigger Death by Overexertion is this:

  1. First, I have my elder Sims go jogging
  2. When they get back home they’ll be Dangerously Tired, so I let them take a quick shower
  3. Then, I have them woohoo with their partner
  4. After my Sims finish woohooing, the male Sim will typically die of overexertion

If you try to make your elder Sims go jogging again and push their limits, they’ll refuse to move due to extreme fatigue. There are many things that eldern Sims can no longer do.

So, in order to overexert them, you need to have them engage in another type of physical activity.

That’s why I have them woohoo after a quick jogging session.

By the way, you can overexert elder Sims without forcing them to work out.

If you have elder Sims woohoo three times in a row, you’ll trigger Death by Overexertion.

If you’re really attached to your elder Sims, you may not want to rush their death. Let them enjoy their last days in the Sim universe.

Death is around the corner

After getting Dangerously Tired, elder Sims will also get the Looming Dread buff from Fear of Death. They know the end is near.

If death is around the corner, this indicates one of your Sims is getting ready to die. To identify which of your Sims is about to get a quick visit from the Reaper, check the Sim tracker.

The Sim with the red circle around their picture will soon hit the bucket.

⇒ Quick Tip:

Sims that have completed the Bodybuilder aspiration and reached their body’s maximum potential typically live for 25 days longer than other elders.

Learn more about Sim Deaths

If overexerting your Sim to death doesn’t really appeal to you, you can trigger death by starvation, electrocution, meteorite, fire, Pufferfish, Cowplant, or drowning.

Other potentially deadly activities include drinking Beetle Juice, sniffing a Death Flower bouquet, rock climbing, using the Research Machine, relaxing in the sauna, using a vending machine, opening a Murphy Bed, or making a wish at the Wishing Well.

If you have Seasons, Sims can freeze to death, get heatstroke, or get struck by lightning.

The Sims 4 universe is full of angry flies, poisonous bugs, pets infected with Rabid Rodent Fever, and revengeful Mother Plants.

By the way, spellcasters can die of Magic Overload and vampires can burn to a crisp from sun exposure.

Emotional deaths such as Death by Anger, Laughter, and Embarrassment are also interesting options although they require a lot of work to trigger.

If your Sims live in the countryside, angry rabbits and chickens can attack and kill them.

If you want to get rid of teenagers, you’ve got two options: Death by Stink Capsule or Urban Myth.

Well, if your Sims have managed to escape all these dangers, they can’t escape Old Age.

Or maybe they can if you disable this feature.

Happy Simming!
