Sims 4 Cottage Living introduces two new deaths, and they’re pretty brutal. Who would have thought that chickens and rabbits could ever attack and kill Sims?

Killer rabbit and chicken attacks

There are numerous ways your Sims can die, including too much woohooing.

Well, Cottage Living just added two new ways to die.

Chickens

If you watch the Cottage Living reveal trailer and jump to minute 01:45, you’ll see a lovely female Sim being brutally attacked by a chicken.

Chickens can viciously attack your Sims, and after two consecutive attacks, the Grim Reaper will gladly pay you a visit.

To prevent your chickens from attacking you, make sure to take good care of them. Ensure they’re well fed, and upgrade the chicken coop whenever you have the chance.

Use Fox-Be-Gone alarms to prevent foxes from stealing eggs and killing your chickens.

Most importantly, don’t use negative interactions such as “Scold About Egg Yield“, “Yet At For Chickening Out“, “Discredit Chicken Intelligence“, or “Scare Black Hen“. Keep your chickens happy, treat them well, and they won’t attack you.

Rabbits

Sims can also befriend wild rabbits. But if you repeatedly use negative interactions meant to scare them, they’ll attack you.

If you don’t want that to happen, don’t use the “Scare Wild Rabbit“, “Taunt Mercilessly“, and “Accuse of Being a Pest” interactions.

The good news is that your Sim is likely to survive the first rabbit attack. But they’ll get a “Barely Escaped a Killer Rabbit” Dazed moodlet.

However, if they get attacked again while dazed, they’ll quickly meet their maker.

In other words, you should be extra cautious after getting the Dazed moodlet and refrain from using negative interactions.

Of course, if you actually want to kill your Sim and entice the Grim Reaper to pay a visit, you can use negative interaction to trigger killer rabbit or chicken attacks.

Learn more about Sim Deaths

Did you know you can trigger death by starvation, electrocution, overexertion, meteorite, fire, Pufferfish, Cowplant, or drowning in The Sims 4?

Other potentially deadly activities include drinking Beetle Juice, sniffing a Death Flower bouquet, rock climbing, using the Research Machine, relaxing in the sauna, using a vending machine, opening a Murphy Bed, or making a wish at the Wishing Well.

If you have Seasons, Sims can freeze to death, get heatstroke, or get struck by lightning.

The Sims 4 universe is full of angry flies, poisonous bugs, pets infected with Rabid Rodent Fever, and revengeful Mother Plants.

By the way, spellcasters can die of Magic Overload and vampires can burn to a crisp from sun exposure.

Emotional deaths such as Death by Anger, Laughter, and Embarrassment are also interesting options although they require a lot of work to trigger.

If you want to get rid of teenagers, you’ve got two options: Death by Stink Capsule or Urban Myth.

Well, if your Sims have managed to escape all these dangers, they can’t escape Old Age.

Or maybe they can if you disable this feature.

Happy Simming!
