Teenage Sims that decide to prank their colleagues’ lockers with stink capsules might meet their maker earlier than expected. The High School Years expansion pack has introduced two new deaths to the game. Death by Stink Capsule is one of them.
Let’s explore how you can trigger this new death.
But before we dive in, you may want to learn more about Death by Urban Myth as well.
How does Death by Stink Capsule work in Sims 4?
Death by Stink Capsule occurs when a stink capsule backfires and explodes while your Sim is planting it in a locker. This type of death affects only pranksters.
When your Sim decides to plant stink capsules in their colleagues’ lockers, there’s a small chance they might get engulfed in the stink cloud, and die.
⇒ Fun Fact: Pranksters can plant stink capsules in their lockers too.
Stink capsules can sometimes backfire and release an unpleasant stink cloud while your Sim is planting them. This will trigger the Self-Stinked buff alongside a lingering smell of defeat from a stink capsule.
If another Sim opens a locker pranked with a stink capsule and your prankster is nearby, they’ll get affected by the stink cloud. This will trigger the Stinked buff. It’s going to take weeks to wash the foul smell out.
You can defuse the stink capsule
If you change your mind, you can always defuse the stink capsules that you planted in your colleagues’ lockers. To do that, click on the locker where you planted a stink capsule, and select Defuse prank.
Keep in mind that stink capsules may sometimes explode in your Sim’s face when they’re trying to defuse them.
How to prevent Death by Stink Capsule
The best way to prevent Death by Stink Capsule in The Sims 4 is to refrain from using stink capsules altogether.
If a stink capsule backfires and explodes in your prankster’s face, send them to the bathroom to wash their face.
If a capsule explodes while the Self-Stinked or Stinked buff is still on, chances are the Grim Reaper will pay your Sim a quick visit.
My Sim died from a stink capsule shortly after he got expelled from high school. As you can see in the screenshot below, Principal Mei Prescott was not moved by his death.
