What powers do vampires have in The Sims 4?
There are five vampire ranks in The Sims 4:
- Vampire Fledgling
- Minor Vampire
- Prime Vampire
- Master Vampire
- Grand Master Vampire
Each rank lets you unlock a specific set of 5 vampire powers.
This means there’s a total of 25 vampire powers that you can choose from. Level up your Vampire Lore skill and earn more Power Points to unlock new abilities.
As your vampire levels up and gets closer to darkness, they’re required to develop new weaknesses.
When a vampire uses their special vampire abilities, their Dark Form automatically shows up.

Vampire Fledgling Powers
The Vampire Fledgling rank unlocks the following vampire powers:
- Detect Personality
- Bat Form
- Cast Hallucination
- Eternally Welcome
- Occult Student, Disciple, and Master
Detect Personality
This power lets you learn everything there is to know about other Sims’ traits.
There’s no need to engage in small talk and then ask Sims about their preferences, likes, and dislikes.
Use this power to scan them from head to toe.
Bat Form
This power lets you fly anywhere as a bat.
You can move around in your bat form to spy on others, and even find love and meet your soul mate.
What’s the difference between Bat Form and Mist Form?
Bat Form and Mist Form fulfill the same role with different animations. It’s essentially the same thing.
The main difference is that Mist Form is slightly faster than Bat Form. And your vampire can woohoo in Bat Form. This option is not available in Mist Form.
⇒ Important Note:
If you send your vampire to work in Mist Form, they’ll lose so much Vampire Energy that they’ll burn when they get home.
Cause Hallucination
Use this power to make other Sims talk to themselves. They’ll also get Dazed while under the influence of this vampire power.
They’ll walk around talking to imaginary friends. And they won’t even know it was all just a hallucination.
Eternally Welcome
This power lets you lock and unlock doors at other Sims’ homes.
There’s no need to ask permission to enter someone else’s house. You can also wreak havoc by locking the door of your host.
Think of this power as the vampire equivalent of the Always Welcome trait.
Occult Student, Disciple, and Master
This handy vampire power allows you to use less Vampire Energy when doing vampire-specific actions.
This is a 3-tier power.

Study Vampiric Energy and how you can use it. You’ll learn how to expend less energy for the same effect.
⇒ Tier 2: Occult Disciple
Continue studying and put your knowledge into practice to further reduce Vampiric Energy expenditure.
⇒ Tier 3: Occult Master
You’ve significantly reduced your Vampire Energy cost when using all powers.
Minor Vampire powers
The Minor Vampire rank unlocks the following vampire powers:
- Vampiric Charm, Allure, and Fascination
- Vampiric Strength, Brawn, and Might
- Command
- Garlic Immunity
- Vampire Creation
Vampiric Charm, Allure, and Fascination
This is a 3-tier power.
⇒ Tier 1: Vampiric Charm
Use this power to make Sims swarm around you.
The Vampiric Charm power increases your vampire’s attractiveness in the eyes of other Sims.
It’s compatible with your romantic orientation settings. For example, if your vampire prefers both genders, they will attract both males and females.
⇒ Tier 2: Vampiric Allure
You can now attract and seduce other Sims much faster.
⇒ Tier 3: Vampiric Fascination
Sims are simply fascinated when they see you. They can’t resist your vampiric charm and charisma.
They’ll be begging you to turn them into vampires.
- Note: This vampire power conflicts with the Undead Aura weakness. You can’t have both.
Vampiric Strength, Brawn, and Might
This is another 3-tier vampire power.
It allows you to win fights more often and work out more efficiently.
⇒ Tier 1: Vampiric Strength
This power gives you an edge when it comes to fitness, sparring, and fighting.
This means you can buff out faster and defeat other vampires in combat easily.
⇒ Tier 2: Vampiric Brawn
This power will make your vampire even stronger. You’ll have an even more powerful advantage when it comes to fitness, fighting, and sparring.
⇒ Tier 3: Vampiric Might
Thanks to this power, your vampire has supernatural strength. No one can defeat you in combat.
Not only that, but you can also crush rocks with your bare hands.
Command
This power allows you to control the minds of other Sims.
You can use this power to control other Sims’ actions. For example, you can command them to clean your house, repair broken items, tend your garden, and so on.
You don’t need a maid to do the laundry if you’ve unlocked this cool power.
If a family member got fat, you can command them to work out. Fortunately, vampires rarely get fat.
If you don’t own Get Together and can’t use clubs to get other Sims to do things for you, the Command power will come in handy.
Garlic Immunity
This power cancels all the negative effects that garlic can have on your vampire.
In other words, your vampire won’t feel uncomfortable near garlic.
Vampire Creation
This handy vampire power lets you turn other Sims into vampires.
Without it, you can’t turn them into creatures of the night.
Use this power to make new eternal friends or simply outpace the Sim population.
Prime Vampire powers
Mesmerize
Use this power to put another Sim into a trance.
Basically, you’re forcing a Sim into a catatonic state where they’ll barely move.
Can you drink from Sims while they’re mesmerized?
Vampires can’t drink from Sims while they’re mesmerized. They’ll look loopy and dizzy, but the option to drink plasma from them is unavailable.
However, after dispelling the Mesmerize power, Sims will get Dazed and tend to be more susceptible to being a snack for your vampire.
Child of the Moon, Creature of the Night, and Master of Darkness
This is a 3-tier vampire power.

⇒ Tier 2: Creature of the Night
⇒ Tier 3: Master of Darkness
Thanks to this power, your vampire can level up their vampire abilities faster, learn new skills faster, and be happier while the moon is in the sky.
Irresistible Slumber
Use this power to put another Sim to sleep.
In other words, you can command other Sims to sleep at will. They’ll instantly drop to the floor and start snoring.
Feel free to use this power if other household members won’t sleep or stay in bed.
Manipulate Life Spirit
You can use this power to drain Life Spirit from other Sims or restore it after they’ve been drained.
Drains Life Spirit makes Sims highly susceptible to adverse vampiric powers. Use the Restore Life Spirit option to protect the Sims you care about from adverse vampiric powers.
Vampiric Slumber, Greater Vampiric Slumber, and Vampiric Trance
These powers will increase the rate of Power gain during sleep.
⇒ Tier 1: Vampiric Slumber
Your vampire will enjoy a deeper, more relaxing sleep that replenishes their energy quicker.
⇒ Tier 2: Greater Vampiric Slumber
Your vampire will sleep like a baby in their coffin. Dreams, nightmares, and noises won’t disturb them.
⇒ Tier 3: Vampire Trance
Your vampire will enter a trance-like state when they go to sleep. Their body freezes in corpse-like immobility.
- Note: This power conflicts with Fitful Sleep. You can’t have both. It’s either one or the other.
Master Vampire Powers
Dampened Emotions, Suppressed Emotions, Deadened Emotions
This super vampire power makes you more resistant to changes in emotion.
⇒ Tier 1: Dampened Emotions
Your vampire is cool and calm. They’re not easily disturbed by the things that so many young vampires suffer from.
⇒ Tier 2: Suppressed Emotions
Your vampire is in full control of their emotions in 80 percent of the cases. Anger and Rage are a thing of the past.
⇒ Tier 3: Deadened Emotions
Your vampire’s mind is governed by total logic and calm precision. Love, Anger, Disgust, and other extreme emotions no longer have a hold on them.
- Note: This power conflicts with the Eternal Sadness weakness. You can’t have both.
Supernatural Speed
Vampires that have unlocked this power can run at super speed.
Walking is so last century, and flying as a bat is no longer in fashion.
By the way, if you want your vampires to move faster, you can use the Teleport option.
Deprive Needs
You can use this power to deplete the needs of another Sim.
Use this power to weaken and make other Sims uncomfortable. They’re a much easier target afterward.
Be careful though. If you use this option for too long, you can kill Sims by keeping their hunger low. Basically, you’re starving them to death.
Sun Resistance
Once you’ve unlocked this power and leveled up to the third tier, you gain resistance to sunlight.
- Tier 1: Your vampire can better withstand the sun’s rays.
- Tier 2: With Greater Sun Resistance, you can stay outside during the day for longer, but they still need to be cautious not to overdo it.
- Tier 3: With Perfect Sun Resistance, your vampire is immune to the sun’s destructive rays.
They can walk outside in day broad light without any problem.
- Note: This power conflicts with the Thin-Skinned weakness.
Odorless
This power freezes the Hygiene need.
There’s no need to shower and your vampire can focus on other pursuits.
Grand Master Vampire Powers
Influence, Alter, and Control Emotion
⇒ Tier 1: Influence Emotion
Your vampire can nudge Sims this way or that way and influence their emotions.
⇒ Tier 2: Alter Emotion
Your influence over other Sims’ emotions is even stronger.
⇒ Tier 3: Control Emotion
Your vampire can now fully control other Sims’ emotions as they wish.
By the way, did you know that Animal Hats can change your Sims’ emotions?
Keep in mind that intense emotions can kill Sims. Be careful in what way you choose to influence other Sims’ emotions.
Mist Form
Vampires that have unlocked this power can teleport anywhere as a cloud of mist.
Walking takes too much time. Use this alternative travel method to go where you need to go instantaneously.
Beyond the Herd
This power freezes your vampire’s Social needs.
In other words, it diminishes their need to socialize with other vampires, human Sims, or other occults.
Your vampire can now fully focus on the pursuits that really matter to them.
Tamed Thirst
This power calms your vampire’s thirst preventing them from drinking from other Sims in an uncontrolled manner.
This is a must-have power if your vampire has the Good Vampire aspiration.
- Note: This power conflicts with the Insatiable Thirst weakness.
Immortal Pleasures
This power freezes your vampire’s Fun needs.
They’re no longer chasing fun activities. Watching TV or scrolling through social media is just a waste of time.
