How do Power Points work in The Sims 4?

Power Points are rewards that vampires earn when they level up and get a new rank. You can use them to unlock new vampire powers.

When you create a new vampire in CAS, you automatically get 2 Power Points. For each additional level up, you get more Power Points.

Fledging Vampires gain 1 Power Point for each level up. Minor Vampires get 2 Power Points for each level up, Prime Vampires earn 3 Power Points, and Master Vampires get 4 Points.

After becoming a Grand Master Vampire, you also earn 5 Power Points. You can also max out your Grand Master skills and get 2 Power Points per full bar.

This allows you to unlock all the vampire perks available in the game.

How do I get more Power Points for vampires in The Sims 4?

To get more Power Points for your vampire, you need to Research Vampire Secrets, read the Encyclopedia Vampirica, ask a higher-level vampire for training, get involved in vampire sparring sessions, drink plasma from human Sims, and use your special vampire powers.

As your vampire levels up and gets closer to darkness, they’re required to develop new weaknesses. When you select new additional powers, you’re required to select new weaknesses too.

This is done to prevent them from becoming too vampiric.

Some vampire powers are incompatible with specific weaknesses. Simply put, you can’t have both.

For example, Vampiric Charm, Allure, and Fascination conflict with the Undead Aura weakness.

Vampiric Slumber and Vampiric Trance conflict with Fitful Sleep.

Dampened Emotions, Suppressed Emotions, and Deadened Emotions conflict with the Eternal Sadness weakness.

Tamed Thirst conflicts with the Insatiable Thirst weakness.

On the same note, Sun Resistance conflicts with Thin-Skinned. If your vampire has a Thin-Skin, do your best to protect them from the sun. Spending too much time outside can be deadly.

If you want to reset your vampire’s powers, have them drink a glass of Draught of Reconfiguration. This drink is available at Level 14 and lets you choose your vampire’s powers and weaknesses again.

Happy Simming!
