What are the best work-from-home jobs in The Sims 4?

Sims-4-best-work-from-home-jobs

If the idea of going to a job every morning doesn’t appeal to you, feel free to join a career that gives your Sim the freedom to work from home.

The best work-from-home careers in The Sims 4 are the following:

  • Freelancer
  • Conservationist
  • Critic
  • Gardener
  • Social Media
  • Style Influencer
  • Simfluencer
  • Video game streamer

These jobs are not stressful, allow your Sim to work at their own pace, and pay really well.

Work-from-home careers are also known as semi-active careers.

Your Sim can work from home as a freelance programmer, artist, writer, fashion photographer, or Paranormal Investigator.

Conservationists will spend a lot of time outdoors cleaning the beaches of Sulani and educating the public.

As a Critic, your Sim is paid to have an opinion on anything. They’ll always have something to say and others will carefully listen. You need excellent Writing skills to work as a Critic.

After leveling up their Gardening skill, your Sim can work as a Botanist or Floral Designer. Evolve your plants, harvest high-quality fruit and vegetables, and super-sell them for thousands of Simoleons.

Sims that are pursuing a career in Social Media can work from home in the Internet Personality or Public Relations branches.

The Style Influencer career is available in the base game and allows your Sim to work from home as a trendsetter or stylist.

If you own High School Years, your teenage Sim can work as a Simfluencer or a video game streamer. These careers pay really well.

Other interesting work-from-home careers include:

  • Civil Designer
  • Politician
  • Education
  • Engineering
  • Law

These careers didn’t make it to the list of the best work-from-home jobs because they tend to be quite stressful and oftentimes require a University degree (Education, Engineering, Law).

For example, as a Civil Designer, you’ll need to interview a lot of homeowners about their utilities. Some townies are always in a bad mood and won’t give you useful information.

Advantages to working from home in The Sims 4

There are multiple advantages to working a work-from-home job. You don’t need to send your Sim to work or follow them to the office. You can have them earn a living from the comfort of their home.

Additionally, these careers tend to be less stressful. Your Sim doesn’t have to work long hours, fight tooth and claw to get promoted, or do overtime.

Everything happens naturally. There’s no corporate ladder to climb.

One hour before your Sim needs to show up for work, the game will ask you if you want them to go to the office or work from home. Simply select the work-from-home option.

Complete the work tasks assigned that day to boost your Sim’s career. Make sure they’re in a good mood when completing work-related tasks to increase job performance.

Many work-from-home jobs are pack-specific

Not all the career options available in the game are work-from-home compatible. You also need to own specific packs to access certain career paths.

For example, you need Seasons to work as a Gardener, and Eco-Lifestyle if you want to work as a Civil Designer.

Island Living is required to access the Conservationist career. You need City Living to work as a Critic or Politician.

The Education, Engineering, and Law careers are available only if you own Discover University.

To work as a freelance Paranormal Investigator, you need to install Paranormal Stuff.

⇒ Fun Fact:

There are only three jobs that allow you to follow your Sim to work. If your Sim is a doctor, scientist, or detective, you can tag along.
