The Sims 4: What jobs let me follow my Sim to work?

jobs-that-let-you-follow-your-Sim-to-work

There are only three jobs that allow you to follow your Sim to work, namely the doctor, scientist, and detective careers. You need the Go To Work expansion pack to access these three career paths.

Once your Sim’s shift starts, a prompt will show up on the screen asking you if you want to follow them to work. Click on the Join button to follow your Sim to work.

Alternatively, you can send your Sim alone to work so that you can take care of other things or play with another Sim.

As you can see, there are only three careers that allow you to follow your Sim to work and influence their career success. If their current career doesn’t support this option, you’ll need to switch careers.

By the way, the doctor, scientist, and detective careers are called active careers because they allow you to follow your Sim to work. All the other jobs available in the game are called rabbit-hole careers.

Your Sim can also work from home if they have a large family.

What to do if you can’t follow your Sim to work

If you can’t follow your Sim to work, choose another job that supports this option and check if it fails as well.

If the issue persists, this indicates something’s wrong with your game. Save your progress, and exit The Sims 4.

Move your Mods folder to your desktop. Go to your Origin Library, right-click on The Sims 4, and select Repair Game.

Make sure to check for updates and update your game to the latest version.

Exit Origin, launch The Sims 4 again, and check if you can follow your Sim to work.
