In Elden Ring, you can loot handy items off the corpses scattered throughout the map. Enemies and bosses often drop various items and Runes that you can then use to level up your character. The rate at which you find items in the game is called Discovery rate. It’s one of the main attributes in Elden Ring.

But how do you improve the likelihood of finding items in Elden Ring and make enemies drop more things? We’ll show you in this quick guide.

How can I improve item discovery in Elden Ring?

To improve item discovery in Elden Ring, equip items that temporarily or permanently boost item discovery, such as: Silver Tear Mask, Silver Scarab, Silver-Pickled Fowl Foot, Marais Mask, Witch’s Glintstone Crown, Mask of Confidence or Albinauric Mask. Additionally, invest in the Arcane attribute as this will improve the likelihood of finding items in the game.

The Silver Tear Mask, and Silver Scarab talisman are permanent item discovery tools.

List of items and talismans that boost item discovery in Elden Ring

The Silver Tear Mask Helm

  • This helmed can increase Arcane and Discovery by +8.
  • At the same time, it decreases physical attack power.
  • You can find it in Nokstella, Eternal City during Ranni’s questline.

Marika’s Soreseal and Scarseal Talismans

  • The Soreseal talisman can boost Mind, Intelligence, Faith, and Arcane by +5 each. It boosts item discovery by 5 points.
  • The Scarseal talisman boost item discovery by +3.
  • You can’t wear the  Soreseal and Scarseal talismans at the same time and generate a compound effect.
  • You can find the Soreseal talisman in the lower levels of the Elphael, Brace of the Haligtree dungeon. You need to use a a Stonesword Key to unlock a sealed room to get your hands on this talisman.

The Silver Scarab Talisman

  • This talisman gives you a +75 item discovery boost.
  • You can find this talisman in a chest in Hidden Path to the Haligtree. The chest is located past an illusory wall, behind the Grave Glovewort.

Silver-Pickled Fowl Foot

  • This item increases discovery by 50 for a 3-minute window.
  • Get a good and quick grinding spot for this item to be worth your effort.
  • You can loot it off a the corpse resting on a wall at the top level of the wine cellar of Stormveil Castle.
  • You can also find it near a tent north of the broken bridge that leads to Raya Lucaria Academy or in the Altus Plateau cemetery.
  • Alternatively, you can also buy it from  from Twin Maiden Husks at the Roundtable Hold after killing Gostoc.
  • To craft the Silver-Pickled Fowl Foot, use Missionary’s Cookbook, and the following Crafting Materials: three Rowa Fruit, one Four-Toed Fowl Foot, and one Silver Firefly.

The Marais Mask

  • This lightweight head armor slightly increases Arcane.
  • It is dropped by Maleigh Marais in the The Shaded Castle.

Witch’s Glintstone Crown

The Mask of Confidence

  • This mask increases Arcane by 3.
  • You can find it in the Carian Study Hall.

The Albinauric Mask

  • This alien-like item raises your discovery rate by +4.
  • It reduces HP recovery, so do keep this important detail in mind when using the mask.
  • You can find it in Volcano Manor near the Guest Hall grace.
