If you want to make life extremely difficult for your Sims, add multiple lot challenges to their property. Lot challenges bring specific risks and dangers your Sim will have to deal with.
The good news is that there is no limit to the number of lot challenges that a property can have.
Some lot challenges are quite easy to deal with. For example, the Wild Foxes and Simple Living lot challenges from Cottage Living are not that annoying.
The same is valid for Off the Grid and Reduce and Recycle.
On the other hand, a lot of challenges such as Cursed or Gremlins will wreak havoc on the property and make your Sims feel very uncomfortable.
Well, if that’s your goal, let’s see what lot challenges you can use to make your Sim’s life a nightmare.

7 lot challenges to turn your Sim’s world upside down
The Gremlins, Cursed, Creepy Crawlies, Filthy, and Spooky lot challenges are the toughest lot challenges in The Sims 4. They’re guaranteed to make life very difficult for your Sims.
If you want to spice your gameplay up, enable the Quake Zone and Grody lot challenges as well.
There is no limit to the number of lot challenges that your lot can have.
Gremlins
Once you’ve enabled the Gremlins lot challenge, all the appliances and plumbing in your Sim’s house will break down while your Sims are sleeping.
You’ll have to either repair the broken items in the morning or replace them.
Cursed
The Cursed lot challenge extends the duration of the Uncomfortable and Tense moodlets. Your Sims will occasionally get voodoo-ed, and feel Dazed and Angry.
Sims have a high likelihood of dying from exhaustion when exercising or from electrocution when repairing broken household appliances.
Don’t repair anything, hire a handyman to get the job done if you don’t want your Sims to die from electrocution.
Additionally, random fires will often start out of nowhere. Make sure your Sims put them out before it’s too late.
Creepy Crawlies 🕷 🐜 🦇
The Creepy Crawlies challenge will infest your property with spiders, bees, bats, and bugs. Sims will often get attacked by crawling insects which will trigger the Uncomfortable buff.
Make sure to use insect repellents to keep creepy crawlies at bay.
This challenge comes with the Jungle Adventure pack.
Filthy
The Filthy lot challenge will make objects become dirty twice as fast. Your Sim will spend a lot of time cleaning the house to get rid of the Filthy Surroundings moodlet.
You may want to hire a maid or a butler to help your Sim out. Or you can simply let them struggle to keep the household clean.
Spooky 👻
All sorts of paranormal phenomena will take place on lots with the Spooky challenge. They’ll attract wandering ghosts like a magnet and your Sims will often get the Scared buff.
Ghosts will often break household items, move them around, and make life difficult for your Sims in general.
However, the Spooky lot challenge is not as challenging or as scary as the haunted houses from Paranormal Stuff.
Quake Zone
Lots with the Quake Zone challenge will often experience mild earthquakes. Sims will become Scared and instantly drop all the activities in their queue.
They’ll also get the Seismophobia buff for a couple of hours. Apart from the occasional Scared buff, the impact on gameplay is minimum.
Grody
The Grody lot challenge will make your Sims nauseous when eating, drinking, or using the toilet. They’ll quickly get the Uncomfortable buff that will slow down their skill gain rate.
Your Sims won’t feel like doing anything while this buff is active.
The good news is that there’s only a 30 percent chance your Sims will feel nauseous when eating, drinking, or using the toilet.
The Grody lot challenge is rather a small inconvenience. Apart from the occasional Nauseated buff, the impact on gameplay is minimum.
How to enable lot challenges in Sims 4
To enable various lot challenges in The Sims 4, click on the three buttons right under the house icon and select the challenges you want to use.
If you’re looking to spice up your Sims 4 gameplay, use the Cursed, Gremlins, and Filthy Objects challenges simultaneously.
Another interesting combo is the Filthy and Grody challenges. Enable both and give your Sim the Slob trait.
