Many Sims 4 players who got the Cottage Living expansion pack noticed their chickens sometimes look really scared. Most likely, this is because wild foxes are roaming about the coop. Chickens have every reason to be afraid of foxes. They often steal the eggs from the coop, and they’ll kill your chickens too.

What to do if your chickens are afraid

The first thing that you need to do is reassure your chickens they’re safe and there’s nothing to worry about. If your chickens are afraid, their happiness level will drop, and they’ll stop laying hatchable eggs. Follow the tips below to keep foxes at bay.

Use friendly interactions

Walk up to your chickens and use a series of friendly interactions to reassure them they’ve got nothing to worry about. Spend more time near the coop, feed your chickens, clean the coop, and give your feathered friends some tasty treats.

Make sure there’s a rooster in every coop. Roosters can also keep foxes away from the coop. They’ll do everything they can to protect the hens and chicklings.

Evil chickens can also kill wild foxes. You can turn any of your adult hens or roosters into an Evil Hen or Rooster by feeding them Obsidian treats or spicy treats.

Place a llama shed near the coop

Llama don’t like wild foxes. As a matter of fact, llamas will often chase foxes away by spiting on them. One way to make sure your chickens feel safe is to place a llama shed near the coop. Chickens instinctively know that llamas will keep foxes at bay.
