Patchy the Straw Man is an NPC you should definitely befriend if your Sim is into gardening.

By the way, you can purchase Patchy from Build Mode if you own Seasons. You can find him under the Outdoor Activities category.
What can Patchy do in The Sims 4?
At first, Patchy won’t be able to do much. Your Sim can talk to him about birds, make small talk, tell him a few harvest jokes, and question his ability to scare the crows.
However, I wouldn’t use this interaction if the plan is to befriend him.
As a thank you for the nice conversations, Patchy will give you a Scarecrow Outfit and a Scarecrow Hat that you can find in CAS.
Once you become friends with Patchy, two new interactions below available: Ask for Gardening Tips and Check Pockets for Seeds.
Use the first interaction to boost your Sim’s Gardening skill. This will come in handy if you’re pursuing the Freelance Botanist aspiration.
The second interaction will add random seeds to your Sim’s inventory. If you’re lucky, you’ll occasionally get seeds of rare plants.
How to get Patchy to help with gardening
You can bring Patchy to life to help you with gardening. He can water your plants, weed them, and fertilize them. Plants will grow faster with Patchy on your lot and you’ll harvest high-quality crops.
Keep in mind that Patchy can help with gardening only during the day. He’ll go back to his post after 5 PM and act like a normal scarecrow again.
Sims will get the Focused buff after receiving handy gardening tips from Patchy.
Who better to ask for gardening tips than someone with a Winter squash for a head?
Right?
While he’s not attached to his post, you can interact with him just as you would with a normal Sim.
How do I bring Patchy to life in The Sims 4?
To bring Patchy to life in The Sims 4, you need to max out your Friendship bar with him. After becoming good friends, he’ll come to life every day at around 12 PM.
He’ll spring up from his post to help you with various gardening tasks, such as watering the plants and fertilizing them. There’s no need to hire a gardener when Patchy’s around.
Patchy will remain in his scarecrow form until you build a high enough relationship with him. Unfortunately, that can take an awful lot of time.
How to add Patchy to your household
To add Patchy the Straw Man to your Sim’s household, press Control, Shift, then C, and type in testingcheats on in the cheat bar. Then, Shift-click on Patchy and select the option to add him to your family.
Unfortunately, you can’t ask Patchy to move into your household. This option is not available, even if the Friendship bar is maxed out.
The only way to bring him to your household is through cheats.
The good news is that you can have a full house of Patchies in your game.
What traits and aspirations does Patchy have?
Patchy has random personality traits and aspirations in The Sims 4. All scarecrows have different aspirations and traits.
He may sometimes have problematic traits such as Kleptomaniac. Don’t be surprised if things around your house keep vanishing.
How to get rid of Patchy
To remove Patchy from your lot, go to Build and Buy Mode and sell the strawman. Alternatively, you can simply put him into your family inventory for safekeeping.
If you already added Patchy to your household, you can delete him via Manage Households.

Patchy can become a romantic partner for your Sim. You can woohoo with him in any standard woohoo location, and marry him if you want to.
You can have a baby with Patchy but the child with be a normal Sim. They won’t inherit any scarecrow features.
Patchy never gets naked. He’s in his scarecrow outfit even when he’s taking a shower.
Removing the scarecrow outfit in CAS will reveal a bald Sim.
Vampires can drink Patchy’s blood. They can even turn him into a vampire. However, once turned, he can become normal again by going back to his post.
