The Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle: How bills and utilities work

The-Sims-4-Eco-Lifestyle-Bills-and-Utilities

Bills and lot taxes are notoriously high in The Sims 4. If your Sim is not that rich, you should try to take advantage of the perks available in Eco Lifestyle to help them lower the bills.

Bills in this expansion pack work just like on any other Sims 4 game. The good news is that you can make your house eco-friendly and reduce bills.

Here’s how the system works.

How does an eco-friendly house impact bills in The Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle?

Your bills and utilities will be much lower if own an eco-friendly house. Install solar panels and dew collectors to strike power and water expenses off your bills.

If you generate more power and water than you consume, make sure to store the excess. If you have the Auto Sell option checked, you’ll push the excess back into the grid.

Sure, you can earn some extra money by doing so, but you risk not having enough power or water should the dew collectors or solar panels break down.

If your house is not completely eco-friendly when the Eco NPC knocks at your door, you’ll get a notification that says your household is not in compliance with the green NAP that’s currently enacted.

A fee will be added to the bills until you fix the issue.

Equally important, eco-friendly houses allow you to lower your eco-footprint. This means you’ll cause less pollution in your neighborhood.

If you want to turn your neighborhood into a green oasis, you should definitely strive to go down the eco-friendly path.

How to lower your bills in The Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle

The best way to lower your bills in The Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle is to generate your own power using solar panels and capture water from the air using dew collectors.

You need to install around five solar panels and three dew collectors per household member to ensure a steady supply of power and water.

If you select the Natural Well and Geothermal lot traits, you’ll have enough water to sell back into the grid even if you’re not using dew collectors.

Happy Simming!
