How to use dew collectors in The Sims 4

The-Sims-4-dew-collector

If you’re living off-the-grid or you want to lower your eco-footprint in The Sims 4, installing dew collectors on your lot is a must.

You can use these machines to collect water from the air. If you own Seasons, your dew collectors will collect even more water when it rains.

To ensure a steady flow of water, you need 2-3 dew collectors for every household member. The idea is to have more sources than you have consumption.

List of dew collects available in The Sims 4

Scrapper’s Dew Collector

Scrapper’s Dew Collector can draw moisture from the air, and collect rainwater.

This eco-friendly device can help you lower your bills while providing water on Off-the-Grid lots.

Specs:

  • Eco footprint: 2
  • Water production rating: 2
  • Reliability: 5

Lab-Pro X2 Dew Collector

Lab-Pro X2 Dew Collector is more expensive than Scrapper’s Dew Collector.

It costs 1,260 but it’s capable of collecting more moisture and precipitation from the air.

Another advantage is that it will rarely break down.

Specs:

  • Eco footprint green: 3
  • Water production rating: 3
  • Reliability: 8

Atmospheric Water Generator

The Atmospheric Water Generator is the most expensive dew collector available in The Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle. You can buy it for 1,870 Simoleons.

It pulls water from the air and requires fuel to run. It can significantly reduce your water bills, so it’s an investment worth considering.

Specs:

  • Eco footprint industrial: 7
  • Water production rating: 5
  • Reliability: 5

What dew collector should I use in The Sims 4?

If you want to have enough water to cover your household needs, the Atmospheric Water Generator is your best choice. It can produce a lot more water than the Scrapper’s Dew Collector and the Lab-Pro X2 Dew Collector.

However, it has an industrial eco-footprint of 7 as it uses fuel to collect water from the air.

This means that while it will collect a lot of water, it will also pollute the air.

If your Sim is pursuing a Civil Designer career, they can use the Smog Vaccum to clean the air.

If you want a reliable dew collector that doesn’t pollute much, buy the Lab-Pro X2 Dew Collector.

What does it mean to Break the Water Valves in The Sims 4?

To Break the Water Valves means breaking your dew collector’s valves so that it leaks. Breaking and repairing the water valves won’t increase your Sim’s Handiness skill.

You can strategically place the dew collector near plants and break the valves so that it waters your plants.

However, the best solution to water your plants is to use a sprinkler instead.

Happy Simming!
