How do you get power in The Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle?

You can generate your own electricity in The Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle from solar panels and wind turbines. You can place them on the ground or on the roof of your house.

Ground solar panels and wind turbines tend to break down quite frequently. Those placed on roofs never break down.

Generating your own power will get you off the grid. There are two main advantages to this: you’ll lower your bills and reduce your eco-footprint.

If household appliances won’t work after getting off the grid, you need to let the game run for a bit longer. Electricity doesn’t build up instantly.

It takes a while for enough power to build up. You need to be patient.

The game will send you a quick notification when your household is generating a surplus of electricity.

If you’re using more power than you generate, you’ll get a notification about that too.

Don’t forget to check your settings for excess power. You can either sell it or store it.

Click on your mailbox, select Bill Information, and check the Store option instead of Auto-sell.

If you sell excess electricity, you’ll get some extra money. However, if something unexpected happens, and your wind turbines and solar panels fail to generate enough electricity to power your appliances, you’ll go back to the grid.

If you have Seasons installed, your power-generating capacity is influenced by the current season, and how cloudy and windy it is.

Well, if you need more electricity, you can always install additional solar panels and wind turbines.

You can reduce your power consumption by upgrading your appliances. You need Eco-Upgrade Parts to get the job done. You can craft them on the Fabricator using Bits and Pieces.

Level up your Sim’s Handiness skill to unlock the “Energy-efficient device” upgrade. This option is available for stoves and refrigerators.

Don’t forget to enable the Geothermal lot trait. You can use natural heating to generate power.

Happy Simming!
