Have you ever wanted to exact revenge on a Sim but didn’t know how? Well, in The Sims 4, you can now channel your inner witch doctor with the Voodoo Doll! This creepy little item allows you to control other Sims’ moves.
If you’re feeling mischievous or just need to blow off some steam, the Voodoo Doll may be just the thing you need to add some spice to your gameplay.
But be careful! The consequences of your actions can be quite unexpected. Voodoo spells can sometimes backfire on the caster.
How do you get a Voodoo Doll in The Sims 4?
The easiest way to get your hands on a Voodoo Doll in The Sims 4 is to level up your Mischief skill. After reaching Level 3 of the Mischief skill, you can purchase a Voodoo Doll.
Click on your computer and buy Madame Zoe’s Voodoo Doll for 950 Simoleons.
Alternatively, you can find Voodoo Dolls while fishing in Oasis Springs Park, Forgotten Grotto, and Sylvan Glades.
If you’re lucky, you can find Voodoo Dolls while digging for treasures.
How do you use the Voodoo Doll in The Sims 4?
To use a Voodoo Doll in The Sims 4, you need to first bind it to a specific Sim. Each doll can be bound to one Sim.
Make sure the Sim you want to bind is on the same lot as your active Sim. If they’re not on the same lot, you can’t use the Bind interaction.
Voodoo Doll interactions in The Sims 4
There are multiple interactions that you can use on a Voodoo Doll:
- Cuddle: This interaction makes the bound Sim Flirty. You need Charisma Level 2 to use it.
- Frolic: This interaction makes the target Sim Playful.
- Poke: Makes the bound Sim Angry. They’ll also get the Pain buff.
- Soak: This option makes the target Sim Dazed.
- Summon: Summon your target to the active lot.
- Tickle: Use this interaction to make the bound Sim Uncomfortable.
However, not all Voodoo interactions are successful. If the Voodoo spell fails, your Sim will become Sad. If the spell backfires, your Sim will become Uncomfortable.
When you’re done playing with the Voodoo Doll, you can free the bound Sim. Simply click on the doll and select the Unbind option.
If the Sim you want to unbind is not on the active lot, you need to summon them first, and then use the Unbind option.
Can you kill a Sim with a Voodoo Doll in The Sims 4?
The short answer is Yes. You can kill a Sim with a Voodoo Doll in The Sims 4.
You can use the Voodoo Doll to cause emotional deaths. If you keep using the Frolic interaction, the bound Sim will become Very Playful and eventually die of laughter.
If you use the Poke interaction multiple times in a row, the bound Sim will get so Angry they’ll die of a cardiac explosion, aka Death by Anger.
You can bind a Voodoo Doll to a Sim and then throw the doll into a lit fire. The bound Sim will catch on fire. The fire is not lethal, it will only scorch them, it doesn’t actually kill them.
But if you go into build mode and place a fireplace near the bound Sim, they’ll catch on fire again. This time around, they won’t be able to put themselves out.
This is how you trigger Death by Fire. That’s one of the 34 ways Sims can die in the game.
Vampires can use Voodoo Dolls to quench their thirst
Vampires can use Voodoo Dolls to ensure a constant supply of blood to quench their thirst when the thirst bar is low. Use the Summon interaction to bring the bound Sim to the active lot and then drink their blood.
Vampires can bind two Sims to the same Voodoo Doll and rotate between victims. In this manner, you can work your way around the feeding cooldown per Sim.
Ideally, bind a Sim that gives your vampire the Divine Drink buff.
Use a Voodoo Doll to revive a dead Sim
After reaching Level 5 of the Mischief skill, you can use an unbound Voodoo Doll to force the Grim Reaper to bring a dead Sim back to life.
Wait until Grim shows up on your lot and is about to reap the soul of a dead Sim. When he’s looking at his tablet, click on the Voodoo Doll and select Toy with Death.
If you time your action right, and the interaction is successful, the Reaper will bring the dead Sim back to life.
How can I unbind a Sim from the Voodoo Doll?
You can unbind a Sim from the Voodoo Doll after reaching Level 5 of the Mischief skill. You can bind other Sims with Level 3 in Mischief, but you need to level up the skill if you want to free them later on.
But what if you didn’t have the time to reach Level 5 of the Mischief skill?
You can throw the Voodoo Doll in a fire. This will destroy the doll, and thus free the bound Sim.
My Voodoo Doll is not working
If your Voodoo Doll is not working this is probably because the target Sim is not on the active lot or you don’t have a high enough Mischief skill.
If you can’t use the Cuddle interaction, this indicates you don’t have a high enough Charisma skill. You need Charisma Level 2 to use this interaction.
⇒ Fun Facts:
- You can’t use a Voodoo Doll on children.
- Ghosts cannot be bound to a Voodoo Doll.
- Bound Voodoo Dolls only work on the Sim they were bound to in the first place. Even if you unbind that Sim, you can’t use the doll on another Sim. This is valid even if the initial Sim dies.
