The foods that will last the longest in your Sim’s inventory without spoiling are fruit, vegetables, and canned food. You can keep them in your inventory for weeks. If your Sim is hungry and you don’t want to waste too much time cooking, have them eat some fruit, veggies, or a jar of canned food.
If your Sim is a vegetarian, they won’t complain. On the other hand, if your Sim is a werewolf, fruit and veggies won’t do. Werewolves need raw meat on the menu. 🥩 🍖
Speaking of meat, fish is the fastest-spoiling meat in The Sims 4. It will go bad after just 24 hours.
If you can’t put fish in the fridge, this usually means your fish fillets have already gone bad. The game doesn’t allow you to store fish that has gone bad.
If you’re not opposed to cheating, you can disable your Sim’s needs, including Hunger. To do that, enable cheat codes, Shift and click on your Sim, and select Cheat Needs. Click on Disable Needs Decay to get the job done.
Do that and you won’t have to worry about filling up your Sim’s Hunger motive.
How to make food last longer in The Sims 4?
The best way to make food last longer in The Sims 4 is to prevent it from spoiling. You need to unlock the Fresh Chef reward trait to do that. Your Sim needs to be a Level 10 Chef and complete the Master Chef aspiration to earn the Fresh Chef reward trait.
Sims that have the Fresh Chef trait will cook excellent dishes that will never spoil.
That’s one of my favorite traits in the game, especially when I’m playing with large households. I can have my Master Chef Sim cook delicious meals for the whole family without worrying about food going bad.
Meal prepping is great if you don’t want your Sims to cook for 5 hours a day.
However, keep in mind that some foods are extremely calorie-dense. Sims that can’t control their appetite will get fat really fast.
If you want them to shed that extra weight, have them exercise. Cardio-based activities such as jogging are great for weight loss.
Happy Simming!
