After defeating Godrick, you’ll come across an interesting NPC called Thops at the Church of Irith. Talk to him, and he’ll give you more information about the Academy of Raya Lucaria. Should I donate 10 Runes to Thops or not?
If you want to unlock the Glintstone Pebble, Glintstone Arc, and Starlight spells, then you should definitely donate 10 Runes to Thops. However, if you’re playing as an Astrologer, you already have the Glintstone Pebble, and Glintstone Arc as starting spells. You don’t really need to buy these spells from Thops.
The Starlight spell creates a floating ball of light that illuminates the surroundings. You can use this spell to illuminate dark areas such as dungeons if you don’t have a lantern in your inventory.
The Glintstone Pebble is a handy spell that you can use to fire offensive Glintstone projectiles when dealing with a group of enemies. You can use the Glintstone Arc to fire a horizontal arc of Glintstone magic that deals damage to multiple enemies.

Give Thops the key to the Academy of Raya Lucaria
Sorcerer Thops’ main objective is to get back to the Academy of Raya Lucaria. To do that, he needs your help. After visiting the Academy of Raya Lucaria and activating the Site of Grace, go back to Thops and give him the key to the Academy of Raya Lucaria. He’ll be very grateful.
After giving him the key, you’ll find Thops’ dead body at the Schoolhouse Classroom Site of Grace. You can loot a special spell called Thorp’s barrier off his corpse. Use this spell to create a defensive barrier against spells. This spell will come in handy when you’re getting invaded by players who use Magic or hybrid builds.
