Bribe the mayor
If your Sim has the Mischievous trait, they can bribe the mayor to secure a win at the fair competition. Make sure to offer a generous bribe that Lavina Chopra can’t refuse.
You need to have a high relationship with the mayor to bribe her. Make sure to run a few errands for her before attempting to bribe her.
Keep in mind that bribing the mayor is risky business. If she refuses the bribe, your chances for a win will drop to zero.
Set the other entries on fire

If your Sim is a Spellcaster, that’s a great way to have fun at the fair.
While some objects may not burn completely, setting them on fire seems to lower their quality.
Finchwick Fair competitions are bugged, random, and unfair
Unfortunately, many players complained the Finchwick Fair competitions are bugged.
Some players participated with many excellent entries, but they never got a ribbon or notification, let alone win the big prize.
Earlier today, my sim lost the oversized crop competition even though her mushroom was worth almost $800 and the judge said it was the biggest produce she had ever seen. The other two entries were medium and small.
Other users wish the game would reveal how it judges fair entries:
My sim got a second place ribbon for her pie once! It was a pumpkin pie, excellent quality. Her other pie (blueberry) got a participation ribbon the other time. I wish the game told you how it judges things at the fair. The ribbons are a collection and I want them all!
