Hunting is one of the coolest activities in The Sims: Werewolves. Your werewolf Sim can go on a solo hunt or invite the whole pack along.
Hunting plays a very important role in werewolf society. It brings the pack together, and allows your Sim to improve their werewolf skills to level up faster.
You can also stock a few pieces of fresh meat in your Sim’s inventory. They’ll come in handy when your werewolf Sim gets a craving for raw meat.
Let’s explore what you can do to prepare for a successful hunt.
Abilities and temperaments that make werewolves better hunters
The Carnivore temperament triggers raw meat cravings
Werewolves with the Carnivore temperament need a lot of fresh meat to quell their Hunger. This need to constantly go on a hunt.
Moreover, this temperament makes werewolves very picky. They gain Fury when eating something different than the prey they’ve caught themselves.
The Hunter ability makes hunting easier
Werewolves with the Hunter ability are innate hunters. Hunting comes naturally to them. They love hunting for their own food. They can hunt for fresh meat in either form.
My Werewolf Sim keeps hunting autonomously
Werewolves that posses the Hunter ability will often go hunting autonomously. They’ll ditch the tasks you’ve set for them to go hunting even if their Hunger needs are full.
The urge to hunt will override any pending tasks. Sims will often ditch work to go on quick hunt. This behavior can negatively affect their career.
You need to cancel the hunt action every time it pops up to ensure your Sim completes the tasks you’ve set for them. Disabling autonomy helps too.
Alternatively, you can use MCCC to scan your Sim for autonomous actions and disable hunting.
Night Vision
Werewolves that have the Night Vision ability take less time hunting. They’re very efficient hunters and bring back more fresh meat than werewolves that don’t possess this ability.
Hunting Party
You can use the Lead Hunting Party interaction to gather a group of werewolves and non-werewolves and go on a hunt together.
You can also unlock additional benefits and rewards when hunting together.
Successful hunts trigger the Hunter’s Stride
Werewolves will get the Hunter’s Strike after a successful hunt. This is an Energized buff that makes werewolves feel great for 2 hours.
Self-sufficiency is crucial
Self-sufficiency plays a key role in werewolf society. All the pack members must contribute to the pack resources. You need to be able to acquire your own food. You can do that through hunting, fishing or gardening.
The Mark of the Hunt reduces Hunger decays
If you want your werewolf Sim to focus on other activities, and spend less time hunting, you can strive to unlock the Mark of the Hunt. This ability reduces natural Fury gains and hunger decays.
Once the Mark of the Hunt ability has been unlocked, your werewolf Sim doesn’t need to go on a hunt that often to satisfy their Hunger needs.
Happy hunting!
