The Sims 4 Eco-Lifestyle: Gentrification explained

Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle gentrification explained

This is a guide on what gentrification means in the new Eco-Lifestyle expansion for the Sims 4. Learn how you can shape the world your Sims live in.

The Sims 4 Eco-Lifestyle expansion pack lets players transform the world their Sims live in. The pack makes it very clear that your actions have direct and immediate consequences on the environment.

If you don’t do much to protect the environment, you’ll quickly notice your Sims will start choking when there’s too much air pollution and smog, and they’ll get ill.

Unlock the Smog Vacuum and use it to clean the air if you don’t want your Sims to get sick from too much air pollution.

This extension also lets players change the character of the neighborhoods where their Sims live — a process called gentrification.

This is a common process in urban planning and is one of the main tasks of the Civil Designer.

This is one of the new career paths available in Eco-Lifestyle.

If you take the Civil Planner branch of the Civil Designer career, you’ll take care of the urban planning task so as to rebuild the town in a sustainable manner.

Eco-Friendly Gentrification in The Sims 4

Here’s how you can reshape your Sims 4 world in an eco-friendly and sustainable manner.

Upgrade your Sims’ home by building wind turbines, solar panels, and dew collectors.

This will significantly lower your bills and eco-footprint. You can also build a living rooftop to reduce your Sims’ footprint and color it in bright colors to add a positive and friendly touch to it.

Vote for the Neighborhood Action Plan and transform abandoned community spaces into real gems.

The voting takes place every week and you can even influence your neighbors. You can turn that unused space into a shared garden and add a Meat Wall there.

Or maybe you want to turn it into a workout space or a maker space?

Just keep in mind that if your idea gets voted for, you’re the one responsible for implementing it.

And if things go sideways, you might end up wearing a paper bag on your head. You’ve been warned.

Play your part and watch the neighborhood transform.

Happy Simming!
