How to know what job your Sim wants

what job your Sim wants

Choosing a job for your Sims is not that obvious. They don’t actually tell what career path they’d like to pursue. You’ve got to figure that out by yourself.

Let’s see how you can do that.

How do I know what job my Sim wants?

The best job for your Sim is one that aligns with their personality traits and aspiration. Getting a job that goes your Sim’s aspiration and traits allows them to work on both at the same time and complete the aspiration much faster.

Sims will occasionally get specific wants about joining a certain career. These job-related wishes typically align with your Sim’s aspiration.

Many aspirations don’t really go with any job. For example, if your Sim has a Family-related aspiration, there’s no such thing as the perfect career for them.

Try to pick a job that allows them to work from home. If they have kids to take care of, make sure one of the parents has a stay-at-home career.

Think of your Sim’s job as a means to an end. That job will allow them to earn money to put food on the table and pay the bills but won’t fulfill them as much as having kids and a good relationship with their partner.

You can also create a story for your Sims and choose a career based on that story. For example, if you want your Sim to have a lavish lifestyle, choose a career that lets them earn lots of Simoleons.

Well, if your Sim is homeless and you’re doing the Rags to Riches challenge, any job will do.

How do my Sim’s traits influence their career success?

If your Sim’s traits complement their job, they’ll have an easier time getting promoted. They’ll quickly complete their job-related milestones and feel happy at work.

On the other hand, if your Sim’s traits don’t support their current career, they’ll feel miserable at work and have a hard time getting promoted.

If you put your Sim into the wrong career, they’ll life will be miserable. For example, don’t put a lazy Sim in the fitness career.

Ambitious Sims really need a job – any career will do, for that matter. If they don’t have a job or it’s been a long time since they got promoted, they’ll become Tense.
