To spot your enemies in Battlefield 2042, press the Q key if you’re playing on PC, or the right bumper button (RB/R1) if you’re playing on console.

You can use spotting, aka marking or tagging enemies, to let your teammates know where enemies are located. Use this option to better coordinate your team strategy.

How to mark enemies in Battlefield 2042

First, you need to find the enemies you want to mark. Then, simply press the right bumper button on your console, or the Q key on PC to ping their position. Double-press the Spot option to let your teammates know that enemies are nearby. This is called a danger ping.

You can also tag enemy vehicles or a location of interest. Keep in mind that the tag is stationary, and doesn’t move with the target. If the target moves, the tag won’t track it.

Bad weather can make spotting more difficult

Weather conditions can change rapidly in Battlefield 2042. Rain makes it very difficult to spot enemies at a distance reducing visibility on the map. Tornadoes make it almost impossible to mark enemies and fly helicopters. However, you can use a wingsuit to fly across the map during tornadoes to gain a bird’s-eye view over the battlefield, and reposition yourself.

Conclusion

To mark your enemies’ location in Battlefield 2042, press the Q key on PC or the right bumper button on console. Use this option to warn your teammates about the coordinates of enemies. However, keep in mind that the tag is stationary, and won’t move with the target.
