As your Sim becomes more skilled at painting, they do paint more masterpieces.
Some Simmers suggested that having the radio on increases your chances of completing masterpieces. They also noticed that when inspired Sims paint autonomously, it often results in a masterpiece.
You have better odds painting masterpieces with the type of painting you have used the most.
Having a higher-quality easel also helps. As you progress into your painting career, you can unlock special easels that will help you crank out high-quality paintings.
As a quick reminder, a masterpiece is a very high-quality painting.
If you don’t want to upgrade your easel, you can complete this aspiration with the lowest-quality easel too. However, it may take longer to get the job done.
Painting a masterpiece grants you special moodlets
Painting a masterpiece will trigger a special In The Zone moodlet. Fresh from creating a masterpiece, your Sim feels like anything they craft could turn out better than expected.
Your Sims have better odds of painting a new masterpiece if they keep on painting while the In The Zone moodlet is active.
Don’t miss this opportunity and have your Sim crank out a new painting after completing a masterpiece.
Sims that have completed a masterwork will also get the Masterful Painting moodlet that will boost their Confidence.
What to do with your masterpieces
If you want to earn some extra money, you can sell your Sim’s masterpieces. A masterpiece typically sells for around 500 Simoleons or more.
Alternatively, you can keep the masterpieces in your inventory and use them as a family heirloom. You can give them to family members when they move out.
How do you always paint a masterpiece in The Sims 4?
You can’t always paint a masterpiece in The Sims 4. Not every painting will be a masterpiece, even if your Sim has mastered the Painting skill.
Level 10 painters do have better chances of painting a masterpiece than Sims that have just acquired the painting skill.
