Why does my Sim keep scraping paintings?

Sim-keeps-scraping-paintings

Sims with the Perfectionist trait will sometimes scrape the paintings they just completed. This is intended behavior. They prefer to destroy their imperfect paintings than let people see work that wasn’t perfect.

The good news is that the second painting usually stays on the easel.

This annoying behavior prevents you from putting the paintings in your inventory or selling them.

How to prevent Sims from scraping paintings

To prevent your Sims from scraping paintings, queue up another action in their action queue. Place a sink or a coffee machine next to the easel. Queue up the “Wash your hands” or “Brew some coffee” actions after your Sims start painting.

They’ll finish the painting and then go straight to wash their hands or brew some coffee.

Queuing up a new action while your Sim is painting should prevent them from immediately destroying less-than-perfect paintings.

Use this window of opportunity to sell the imperfect painting and earn some extra money. Some paintings are worth thousands of Simoleons.

Unfortunately, you may not always be able to prevent your Sim from destroying imperfect paintings. Oftentimes, they immediately scrap the painting.

If it’s not a flawless masterpiece, it gets tossed. It’s as simple as that.

⇒ Quick Tip:

To increase your Sim’s odds of painting high-quality paintings and amazing masterpieces, have them paint while Inspired or Very Inspired.

Happy Simming!
