Sims 5 wishlist: Top 10 things that players want

the-sims-5-game

EA has confirmed The Sims 5 is currently in the early development stage. There are many things that players would like to see in the upcoming Sims 5 release. Here are some of the most common requests. Hopefully, EA will take a look at this list and make Sims fans’ dreams come true.

What’s your Sims 5 wishlist?

A more stable game engine

EA uses a special game engine to build The Sims 4. Unfortunately, the game is pretty bugged. Some bugs have been around for years, yet EA has failed to fix them. That’s why many players think EA should use a more stable game engine for The Sims 5, and add better animations too.

Open worlds or, at least, open neighborhoods

While many players repeatedly asked EA to add open worlds, technically speaking, that’s a bit challenging. That’s one of the reasons why there are no cars in The Sims 4. On the other hand, open neighborhoods are doable.

Backward compatible DLCs

The Sims 4 has received a large number of expansion packs over the years. Players hope they’ll be able to transfer their Sims 4 DLCs to Sims 5.

More customization options

Players want EA to add additional customization options, and simplify the process. Things like changing your Sim’s height shouldn’t be that complicated.

Players want to be able to create distinct styles for their Sims. For example, they would like to get new CAS options to create Sims with disabilities, such as prosthetics and hearing aids.

More interesting life stages

Sims 4 is really lacking when it comes to life stages. That’s why many players  usually play with young adults or adults. Children are annoying and quite unpredictable, while elders are too fatigued to do even simple tasks.

Hopefully, Sims 5 will support more life stage interactions, and make playing with kids and elders more appealing.

Let players create new worlds or custom neighborhoods

Many Sims want EA to add the ability to create new neighborhoods and worlds, similar to The Sims 2 and Sims 3. EA already confirmed that Sims 5 would support many new build options. Hopefully, some of them will allow you to build new neighborhoods and worlds.

Memories

Many fans of The Sims franchise would like to see the memory system make a comeback in The Sims 5. Sims would then have a background, as well as backstories and motivations.

Wants, fears, and phobias

Many players that don’t really like the current whim system want EA to reintroduce wants and fears. They believe Sims are too shallow because all they want to do is buy new things.

Players think that EA should revamp the system, and add more wants, fears, and phobias to bring some more personality to the game.

Many players also suggested that Sims’ personalities should be non-static, and evolve during gameplay depending on their actions.

Realistic life changes

Sims fans would like to see more realistic life changes. Here are some suggestions:

  • Bed comfort should lead to shorter sleeping times.
  • Cooking and eating take crazy amounts of time relative to real cooking times. It takes Sims 2 hours to do a stir fry.
  • Sims should have the option to run for the bathroom instead of doing the “hold it in” walk.
  • Players want EA to improve the attraction system because they miss how complex it was in The Sims 2.

More focus on nutrition

Sims can cook, buy or forage for ingredients, and even get fat if they eat too much. However, nutrition doesn’t play such as important in Sims 4. After all, donuts, bagels and pies have zero calorie values. Players would like EA to have a more realistic approach on nutrition in Sims 5.
