How do you become a Critic in The Sims 4?

To become a Critic in The Sims 4, click on the Phone, select Find a Job, and then click on the Critic career.

Your Sim can work as a critic from the comfort of their home. They have the option to work from home if they don’t like the idea of going to the office every day.

What does a Critic do in The Sims 4?

As a Critic, your Sim is paid to have an opinion. They can share their ideas on Arts and Food and other Sims will listen.

You will review Art, food, or drink and write columns to share your experiences and ideas.

What skills do you need for the Critic career in The Sims 4?

Your Sim needs excellent Writing skills to work as a critic. Make sure to level up your Writing skill by writing columns and books.

If you’re pursuing the Arts Critic career, you need to level up your Music/Comedy and Painting skills as well.

If you’re pursuing the Food Critic career, make sure to level up your Sim’s Cooking and Gournet skills.

The ideal mood for the Critic career is Inspired. This job requires a lot of creativity.

The best traits for a Critic are Creative and Foodie.

Long story short, your Sim needs to be passionate about what they’re reviewing.

Sims 4 Critic career levels

Level 1: Paper Deliverer

Your Sim will earn 21 Simoleons per hour and work six days a week, from Sunday to Friday, 5 hours per day, from 6 AM until 11 AM.

Level 2: Story Researcher

Your Sim will earn 29 Simoleons per hour and work four days a week, from 10 AM until 5 PM.

Level 3: Beat Reporter

Your Sim will earn 29 Simoleons per hour and work four days a week, from 10 AM until 5 PM.

After being promoted to Level 4, your Sim needs to choose the Critic branch they want to specialize in. You have two options: you can become an Arts Critic or a Food Critic.

Arts Critic career levels

Level 4: Snooty Pundit

  • 47 Simoleons per hour
  • Work five days a week, from 12 PM until 5 PM

Level 5: Show Scout

  • 66 Simoleons per hour
  • Work five days a week, from 4 PM until 9 PM

Level 6: Refined Reviewer

  • 93 Simoleons per hour
  • Work five days a week, from 4 PM until 9 PM

Level 7:  Cultural Connoisseur

  • 130 Simoleons per hour
  • Work five days a week, from 12 PM until 5 PM

Level 8: Chief Critic

  • 182 Simoleons per hour
  • Work five days a week, from 12 PM until 5 PM

Level 9: Syndicated Superstar

  • 273 Simoleons per hour
  • Work four days a week, from 4 PM until 9 PM

Level 10: Grand Steward of the Arts

  • 454 Simoleons per hour
  • Work only three days a week, from 4 PM until 9 PM

Food Critic career levels

Level 4: Chow Chaser

  • 49 Simoleons per hour
  • Work five days a week, from 10 AM until 4 PM

Level 5: Food Stall Frequenter

  • 73 Simoleons per hour
  • Work five days a week, from 10 AM until 4 PM

You need to visit plenty of food stalls to find ideas for your reviews.

Level 6: Restaurant Rater

  • 110 Simoleons per hour
  • Work five days a week, from 1 PM until 7 PM

Level 7:  Local Gourmand

  • 164 Simoleons per hour
  • Work five days a week, from 1 PM until 7 PM

Level 8: Expert Epicurean

  •  230 Simoleons per hour
  • Work five days a week, from 10 AM until 4 PM

Level 9: Kitchen’s Worst Nightmare

  • 345 Simoleons per hour
  • Work four days a week, from 10 AM until 4 PM

Level 10: Curator of the Finest Flavors

  • 441 Simoleons per hour
  • Work four days a week, from 11 AM until 4 PM

As you can see, your Sim can earn more as a top-level Arts Critic than as a Food Critic (454 Simoleons per hours vs 441).
