In this guide, I’ll show you how you can quickly build a room under your staircase in The Sims 4.
To build a room under a staircase in The Sims 4, you need to:
- Select a staircase that doesn’t have a wall
- Enable the bb.moveobjects cheat
- Drag your staircase and make it at least four sections wide
- Add a door or archway
- Decorate the room
As you can see, this is a simple five-step process.
Here’s a breakdown of the steps to follow.
How do you make a room under the stairs in The Sims 4?
First, you need to select a staircase model that doesn’t have a space. You can’t use a staircase that has a wall underneath it. Then, enable the bb.moveobjects cheat.
Place your staircase on your lot and make sure it’s four sections wide or more to have enough space. The bigger the space, the more room you have to work with.
If the space is too small, your Sims won’t enter the room.
By the way, you can also turn your staircase around to get more room. Additionally, make sure to use tall walls for extra space. Tall walls will come in handy if you want to build a functional room.
After placing and arranging your staircase, grab an archway or door and place it on the wall. This will be the door that your Sims can use to enter the room.
Make sure there are no objects close to the archway or the staircase. They may prevent your Sim from entering the room.
Trace your walls over the stairs
If your Sims still won’t enter the room, select the wall tool and trace your walls over the stairs. In this manner, you can create walls around the staircase to build your room.
You can now place any objects you want inside the newly-created room.
