The Sims 4: My Sims Are Stuck in One Spot

fix sim got stuck sims 4

Sometimes, your Sims may get stuck in one place and won’t move. This glitch can be really annoying and pinpointing the exact root cause of the problem is not that obvious.

As if that was not enough, not being able to move and do what you asked them makes Sims unhappy.

In this guide, we’ll take a look at what you can do if your Sim won’t move and won’t do any commands.

How do I get my Sim unstuck? If your Sim got stuck in one place and won’t move, remove any objects blocking their path, restart the game or reset the problematic Sim.

You’ll find the detailed instructions below.

My Sim Won’t Do Anything

Fix 1 – Remove Any Objects From Your Sim’s Path

Oftentimes, your Sims won’t move because there’s an object blocking their path. Identify it and remove it as soon as possible.

Speaking of objects blocking your Sims, this is one of the most frequent reasons why your Sims won’t go to bed and sleep.

If your Sim got stuck in the bathroom, enable Build Mode, replace the door and check if you notice any changes.

Fix 2 – Restart Your Game

A simple game restart works wonders. Launch the game again and check if this solves the problem.

If the issue persists, you’ll need to reset the problematic Sim.

Fix 3 – Reset Your Sims

If your Sims become stuck and unresponsive, try resetting them. There are two methods you can use to reset your Sims.

Reset your Sims using the ResetSim command

  1. Press and hold the CTRL + Shift + C keys to open the cheat window.
  2. Type resetSim Firstname Lastname
  3. Hit Enter

Example: If you want to reset John Doe, type resetSim John Doe. If you need to reset all of the Sims, type resetSim *.

Reset your Sims using the Testingcheats true method:

  1. Press and hold the CTRL + Shift + C keys to open the cheat window.
  2. Type testingcheats true
  3. Hit Enter
  4. Press Shift and select the Sim you want to reset
  5. Select Reset Object (Debug)

Keep in mind that resetting your Sims will bring them back into a playable state. Your Sims won’t return to their home lots after confirming the command.

Also, all your Sims’ wishes and moodlets will be cancelled after the reset.

Hope something helps.
