If you don’t like playing with kids and toddlers in The Sims 4, you can buy or bake a birthday cake, blow out the candles, and age up your Sims.
But what if you change your mind? What if you realize that aging up your Sims was a mistake? Or maybe you simply forgot to disable the aging option.
Let’s see what you can do to age your Sims down.
How can I age down my Sims in The Sims 4?
To age down your Sim in The Sims 4, open the Cheat console and enter testingcheats true. Then type in cas.fulleditmode, press Shift and click on your Sim and select Modify in CAS. Click on the Young Adult option to change your Sim’s age and make them younger.

After aging down your Sim, go to Game Options, click on Gameplay and disable auto-aging.
By default, Sims age up as time progresses in the game. However, you can disable the aging feature in the Game Options menu. This will prevent your Sims from getting older.
This way, they will remain in their current life stage indefinitely.
If I have a Sim that I really like, I tend to disable aging. I want them to remain forever young.
I wish there was a similar option in real life.
If you want your Sims to experience elderhood, you can simply select the option that gives them a long lifespan.
The Potion of Youth doesn’t age down your Sims
You can also buy the Potion of Youth for 1,500 Satisfaction Points. However, the potion doesn’t make your Sim younger. It only resets your Sim’s current age state.
In other words, if your Sim is a young adult and they drink the Potion of Youth, they’ll remain a young adult forever.
The Potion of Youth is actually an anti-aging potion. It won’t make your Sims any younger.
It will only freeze the aging process.
For example, let’s say that your adult Sim has 10 days left before age up. If they drink the Potion of Youth, they’ll go back to 24 days left before age up.
The same is valid for the life essence given by cowplants.
How to make a Sim younger if you’re playing on a PlayStation console
To make a Sim younger on a PS4 or PS5 console, enable testingcheats true, and then enter cas.fulleditmode. Hold the Circle and press X simultaneously on your Sim. Select Modify in CAS and reset their age.
