If you want your Sim to conceive a baby, use the “Try for baby” interaction. Regular woohoo does not result in pregnancy. If your Sim doesn’t get pregnant after multiple attempts, maybe something’s wrong with them.
Let’s explore what might be preventing your Sim from conceiving.
Pregnancy is not guaranteed in The Sims 4
Pregnancy is not guaranteed after using the “Try for baby” interaction. The chance of conception varies depending on a variety of factors such as the place where your Sims woohooed, and fertility levels.
If you already used the “Try for Baby” interactions at least five times but no changes are visible, try resetting your Sim.
If you’re playing on PC, press Ctrl, Shift, and C. If you’re playing on a console, press the four-shoulder buttons.
Then, enter the following command: ResetSim First Name Last Name.
If you’re using mods, move your Mods folder to your desktop, and repair the game. Launch The Sims 4 again, try for a baby a couple more times, and check if you notice any changes.
By the way, ghosts can’t get your Sims pregnant in The Sims 4. They can’t impregnate other Sims.
Chance of conception in The Sims 4
Depending on where your Sims woohooed, the chance of conception can vary from 25 percent to 40 percent.
Your Sim has a 25% chance of achieving pregnancy after woohooing in a hot tub. If you want to increase the pregnancy chances to 40%, have your Sims woohoo in a sauna.

Fertility in The Sims 4
To further increase the chances of conception, have your female Sims try for a baby when they’re young adults. Young adult females are more fertile than adult females.
By the way, they also have a greater chance of conceiving twins and triplets.
Keep in mind that female Sims getting too close to being elderly can no longer conceive. If your adult female Sim is close to aging up, that could explain why she doesn’t get pregnant.
Female Sims cannot get pregnant 3 days before they become an elder.
You can also try to influence the gender of your Sim’s child. For example, if you want them to have a baby girl, have your Sim eat lots of strawberries before getting pregnant and during pregnancy.
Infertility in The Sims 4
Some Sims are infertile. They can’t have children no matter what they do. Go to CAS and check if your Sim can have babies or not.
If they’re infertile, no wonder they can’t get pregnant.

The option to “Try for Baby” is not available if you already have 8 Sims in the household.
