Elden Ring NPCs will often give you all sorts of key items that you can use to unlock new areas, embark on new quests, and further progress the game’s story. One such item is the Weathered Dagger. Let’s explore where you can get it and how to use it.
Where to find the Weathered Dagger
You can get the Weathered Dagger from Fia, the Deathbed Companion, after reaching the Atlus Plateau via the Grand Lift of Dectus. Talk to Fia, get the dagger, and accept the quest she gives you. You’ll then hand the dagger over to D, the Hunter of the Dead.
To get your hands on the dagger, let Fia hug you and talk to her. Most importantly, don’t kill her early as this will automatically lock you out of her questline.
This dagger is described as a once-special weapon of gold and silver, now worn down with a black gash.
The Weathered Dagger in Elden Ring is actually not a weapon that you can use in combat, so it doesn’t have any scaling with attributes like Strength, Dexterity, Intelligence, or Faith.
It’s strictly a key item used for progressing Fia’s questline. Therefore, you can’t boost it with Dexterity or any other attribute, as it’s not intended for combat purposes.
What to do with the Weathered Dagger
After getting the dagger from Fia, go to the Roundtable Hold and talk to D, the Hunter of the Dead. He’ll ask you if you have the dagger. Give it to him to progress Fia’s quest. Doing this will also kill D.
He’ll be dead the next time you visit the Roundtable Hold.
You can then loot the Twinned Armor and D’s Bell Bearing off his corpse. You can give the Bell Bearing to the Twin Maiden Husks to unlock new items.
Weathered Dagger steps:
- Meet D
- Kill the boat dude
- Give the Death Bloom to the Creature Sanctum
- Go to the Roundtable Hold and talk to D
- Then, talk to Fia
- Get the Hug King/Queen
- Head to Altus Plateau for the first time
- Then, go back and talk to Fia
- She’ll give you the dagger
- Give the dagger to D
- Rest until morning at the Site
- D will be dead by morning
- Go to the room past the Smith and Spirit Lady
- Pick up the armor and all the items you can find there
Who’s the owner of the Weathered Dagger?
The owner of the Weathered Dagger is D, the Hunter of the Dead. After getting the dagger from Fia, find D and hand it over to him. If you can’t find him at the Roundtable Hold, he’s west of Summonwater Village in Limgrave.
Visit him there, and he’ll return to the Roundtable Hold where you can interact with him and give him his dagger.
