Elden Ring: What happens if Sorcerer Rogier gets killed?

Elden-Ring-Sorcerer-Rogier

This quick guide covers what happens if Sorcerer Rogier gets killed and disappears unexpectedly from the game. Let’s see how his absence affects the story.

What happens when Sorcerer Rogier dies?

The death of Sorcerer Rogier doesn’t affect the main Elden Ring story and won’t lock you out of Ranni’s questline. Rogier drops a Ball Bearing, the Spellblade’s full armor set, and a letter. You can give the Ball Bearing to the twin merchants to access Rogier’s shop.

Elden Ring players cannot prevent Rogier’s death. After progressing Ranni’s quest enough, he’ll tell you he needs to go into deep slumber. He’ll die soon after the event.

Next time you rest at a Site of Grace, you’ll notice he’s indeed fallen into deep sleep.

After Rogier enters deep sleep, go to Fia, let her hug you and ask her to tell you more about Rogier. You’ll find that Rogier had been constantly visiting Fia, and he was obsessed with finding the Cursemark of Death.

Rogier’s questline is a means of finding Ranni if you’re having trouble embarking on her questline. The only difference is that starting Ranni’s questline will take longer. At the end of the day, you’ll earn the same rewards from both NPCs.

⇒ Quick Tip:

You can summon Rogier’s spirit to help you defeat Margit. However, chances are he’ll die during the fight. Rogier has a strange fighting style trying to be a tank when he’s actually a spellcaster.

And now you know.
