Elden Ring: Should I save Smithing Stones or use them?

Finding enough Smithing Stones early in the game is not easy. That’s why many Elden Ring players are wondering if it’s a good idea to stockpile their Smithing Stones and use them later.

Many players fear that if they use their stones to upgrade the weapons they’re currently using, they may not have enough to level up new weapons.

Should I save Smithing Stones in Elden Ring?

You should not save Smithing Stones in Elden Ring. Instead of stockpiling Stones, use them to upgrade your weapons and level up your character. As you progress into the main story, it will be easier to find, farm and buy Smithing Stones. Rest assured, you’ll have enough Stones to upgrade all the weapons you want.

There’s no shortage of Smithing Stones

There are plenty of sources of Smithing Stones in Elden Ring. You should not stress about that. Early in the game, you might want to commit to leveling up only one or two weapons. As you progress into the game, you’ll soon have enough Smithing Stones for all of your weapons.

You can find and buy an endless supply of Smithing Stones in the game. As you keep progressing, you’ll keep acquiring more and more of them. Feel free to upgrade early weapons. You’ll soon have enough Stones to switch to a different weapon without any problems.

How to buy unlimited Smithing Stones in Elden Ring

  1. Go to the Academy Gate Town Site of Grace in Liurnia of the Lakes
  2. Head north until you reach the Raya Lucaria Crystal Tunnel
  3. Kill the boss from the tunnel and collect the Smithing-Stone Miner’s Bell Bearing
  4. Then, go to the to Roundtable Hold
  5. Give the Smithing-Stone Miner’s Bell Bearing to the Twin Maiden Husks
  6. This will add an infinite supply of Smithing Stone 1 and 2 to their inventory
  7. You can now buy Smithing Stones directly from the Twin Maiden Husks whenever you want
