Elden Ring: List of multiplayer items and how to use them

If you’re tired of playing Elden Ring solo, you can enable multiplayer mode. This allows you to summon other players to help you in combat and take out bosses faster. At the same time, that also makes you vulnerable to unwanted invasion attempts.

Let’s explore what items you can use when playing Elden Ring in co-op mode.

Multiplayer items to use in Elden Ring

There is a total number of 13 multiplayer items that you can use in Elden Ring to summon other players, invade another player’s world, leave message for your fellow players, or lure invaders to your world.

  • Bloody Finger: This item lets you invade another player’s world
  • Blue Cipher Ring: Use this item to answer calls from other players that need help in combat
  • Duelist’s Furled Finger: This item creates a red summoning sign for PvP
  • Festering Bloody Finger: If you want to invade another player’s world, this is the item to use
  • Finger Severer: Use this item to go back to your world or send another player home
  • Furlcalling Finger Remedy: Use it to check the summon signs left by other players
  • Small Golden Effigy: This item sends a PvE co-op sign to a summoning pool allowing other players to summon you
  • Small Golden Effigy: Use it to send a co-op sign to nearby summoning pools
  • Small Red Effigy: Use this item to send a PvP sign to a summoning pool
  • Tarnished’s Furled Finger: This item creates a co-op sign, it’s one of the first multiplayer items you can find in the game
  • Tarnished’s Wizened Finger: Use this item to leave polite messages to other players
  • Taunter’s Tongue: If you’re not getting invaded, use this item to lure invaders to your world
  • White Cipher Ring: Use this item to ask a hunter for help when you’re being invaded

Multiplayer limitations in Elden Ring

  • You can’t use your horse while playing co-op
  • There is a maximum number of four players in multiplayer mode
  • You can’t explore dungeons in co-op mode
  • You can’t summon other players in an area where you already killed the boss

Advantages to playing co-op

  • You can takes out bosses faster. Find allies to take on powerful bosses, outnumber them, exploit their weaknesses, and defeat them as fast as possible.
  • Study and learn boss behavior before fighting them in your game. Answer the call for help of a fellow player in need, and use this experience to analyze the boss’s behavior.
  • Level up your character faster. You’ll earn lots of Runes for every boss kill.
  • Check what builds other players are using. There are plenty of builds that you can use in Elden Ring, including Strength, Melee, Magic-based builds, Hybrid builds, and so on. You can draw inspiration from others players when creating a new character.
