Elden Ring: Can’t summon allies [Unable to Summon Cooperator]

There are tens of fierce bosses in Elden Ring placed in strategic points all over the map. Beating them is not easy. You need heavy weapons to get the job done, crossbows won’t do the trick. Sometimes, you may need to summon powerful spirits and allies to help you in combat.

Unfortunately, summoning your allies may not always work. Either the option is unavailable or your friends don’t receive your call for help. A strange error that reads Unable to Summon Cooperator may also pop up on the screen.

Here’s what you can do to solve all these problems.

Why can’t I summon allies in Elden Ring?

If you can’t summon allies in Elden Ring, make sure you have enough consumable items to unlock the co-op summoning option. If you don’t have the Furlcalling Finger Remedy, you won’t be able to ask your allies to help you in combat.

As a quick reminder, the Furlcalling Finger Remedy is one of the 13 multiplayer items you can use in Elden Ring.

Players noticed that you can’t summon allies that have just been summoned by someone else. Try standing in the area and grabbing them as soon as they show up.

Certain story events or progress points might temporarily restrict summoning. Progressing the story might resolve this.

Try again later

Ensure you’re connected to the internet and the game’s servers. “Elden Ring” requires an active internet connection for online features like summoning.

If Elden Ring’s servers are overloaded, you won’t be able to summon your allies. The same is valid if the game servers are down due to unexpected technical glitches.

Wait for the server load to reduce or for the devs to solve the issues on their end and try again later.

Ensure your game is updated to the latest version. Sometimes bugs affecting various game features are fixed in updates.

Keep spamming and jump on the first ally

If you can’t summon your allies in Elden Ring, spam them with summon requests and then clear them all. Then, jump on the first ally that pops up and you should be able to join forces successfully.

If the area is extremely populated, people get summoned as soon as their sign appears. You need to keep spamming them until you manage to nab someone.

However, keep in mind that this method has a success rate of about 40 percent.

Why can’t my friends see my summon sign in Elden Ring?

If your friends can’t see your summon sign in Elden Ring, make sure you’re using the Furlcalling Finger Remedy. That’s the only way to see other players’ summon signs.

Gold summon signs are allies, while Red summon signs are enemies.
