The Sims 4: What to do with out-of-season plants

The-Sims-4-What-out-of-season-plants

In The Sims 4, when plants are out of season, they will enter a dormant state and retreat back into the ground for rest. You can plant the seeds on any day, but the plants will remain dormant until the appropriate season arrives.

Out-of-season plants can be placed in your Sim’s inventory or stored in a planter object until the appropriate season arrives.

Go into build mode and transfer all of your plants into your Sim’s inventory. Afterward, you can fill the boxes with fresh plants suitable for the current season.

This way, you can maintain the quality of your plants while making room in the boxes for the right seasonal plants.

Evolving your plants to Excellent quality takes time and effort. By using the inventory method, you won’t have to start from scratch to improve them again.

You can preserve the existing quality of your plants.

Keep in mind that some plants require a few days to fully mature. Be patient when taking them out of your Sim’s inventory and replanting them in the ground when the time is right.

You can also sell the out-of-season plants for Simoleons or use them for crafting various items.

It’s a good idea to keep track of the in-game calendar and plan crop harvesting accordingly.

Outdoor gardening is seasonal in the game, just like in real life.

How to deal with plant seasonality in The Sims 4

As a quick reminder, the Seasons expansion pack only allows seasonal plants to grow. Plants go dormant when out of season.

However, if you want to grow plants in all seasons, you can build a greenhouse. Build a normal room and roof but use full-wall windows and a glass roof.

Your plants will count as sheltered.

If you grow your plants indoors, they will remain active throughout the year. Keep in mind that out-of-season plants can only grow indoors.

Happy Simming!
