If you want to grow plants all year round in The Sims 4, you need to build a greenhouse.
In other words, you need to build a shelter for your plants. Sheltered plants can grow in any season. Greenhouses automatically turn your plants into sheltered plants.
The only downside is that you’ll need to water your plants more frequently. Sheltered plants can’t use rainwater.
How do I build a greenhouse in The Sims 4?
To build a greenhouse in The Sims 4, go into Build Mode and add a rectangular room with medium or high walls. Add tall windows and a glass roof to bring in enough light for the plants to grow.
Click on the terrain tools and add dirt and paths to your greenhouse. If you want to keep things simple, use planter boxes.
You can also use the platform tool to sink the floor three steps. This step is optional.
Use the platform tool if you can want to use normal walls on ground level. Sinking the floor three or four steps lets you grow trees inside the greenhouse.
The Sims 4 offers multiple glass texture options for roofs but only a few options for glass doors.
Feel free to keep the roof peak if you want. Or you can flatten it using the arrow button facing the sky. Drag your mouse downwards to make a flat roof.
