Why do vampires keep turning into bats in The Sims 4

The-Sims-4-vampire-keeps-turning-into-bat

Vampire NPCs will often turn into bats when they need to move or go to a specific place. This happens by design. Vlad will often morph into his bat form and disappear right when you try to talk to him.

He’ll be gone before you can initiate a dialogue with him.

If a vampire you control moves as a bat all the time, this indicates that the “Always move as a bat” option is enabled. To disable this option, click your vampire, select the Vampire menu, and then turn off this feature.

This option can be really annoying as vampires will often turn into bats just to move an inch or two to the right or to the left.

But there’s also another downside to this.

Moving as a bat drains your Vampire Energy very quickly, especially if your vampire is a low-rank vampire.

Enabling this option on a Fledgling Vampire will quickly deplete their energy. They’ll need their coffin within a few hours of waking up.

You need to level up your Vampire Lore skill and rank up in order to use your vampire energy more efficiently.

Despite being extremely annoying at times, moving as a bat can be a lifesaver if your vampire is outside and needs to quickly move indoors. Sunlight can be deadly if your vampire hasn’t unlocked the Sun Resistant perk.

The good news is that vampires that possess Supernatural Speed don’t always move around using their bat form.

For this reason, many Simmers take this as a power, instead of Bat Form. Flying for only one step is really annoying.

If you have MCCC, you can quickly reset a vampire’s perks. To do that, click on the vampire, select MC Cheats, go to Cheat Sim Info, and select Occult Cheats.

You can now reset their powers and weaknesses and remove the Bat Form perk.

If you’re not using mods, you can have your vampire drink the Draught of Reconfiguration. This drink is available at Level 14 and lets you choose your vampire’s powers and weaknesses again.

Happy Simming!
