The Sims 4: Vampire genetics explained

The-Sims-4-vampire-genetics

In The Sims 4, vampires can have children with any Sims as long as one of them can impregnate and the other can get pregnant.

But how are genes passed from vampire parents to their offspring? Let’s find out!

How does vampire genetics work in The Sims 4?

If both parents are vampires, the offspring will be a vampire. If only one parent is a vampire, the child has a 50/50 chance of being a vampire.

This means that if one of the parents is a human Sim, and the other is a vampire, there’s a 50/50 chance that the child will be a human or a vampire.

As you can see, what the offspring comes out as depends on the parents.

If both parents are vampires and have the Bat Form, the kids will automatically inherit the Bat Form if the parents woohoo as bats.

In other words, if the child is conceived in Bat Form, they will inherit this perk.

If a vampire and a human Sim conceive a child, they may have a completely different face in their Dark Form from their human form.

The human form is inherited from their human parent. The Dark Form is inherited from their vampire parent.

The child of a human-vampire couple typically has soft features in their human form, while looking very much like their vampire parent in their Dark Form.

Well, if you’re not happy with how your vampire looks, you can use the cas.fulleditmode cheat code to go into CAS again and edit their traits.

When it comes to other physical traits and characteristics, the normal Sims 4 genetics system applies.

How do I know if a baby is a vampire in The Sims 4?

There is no way to tell if a baby is a vampire in The Sims 4. The telltale signs will appear when they’re toddlers and children.

For example, you’ll see a little vampire icon next to their traits in CAS.

Additionally, their Needs panel will have a vampire symbol. However, they’ll still have human needs as children and toddlers.

Can vampires have babies with other occults?

While vampires can have kids with aliens and other occults, hybrids are not supported in The Sims 4. They may inherit traits from both occult types but are extremely glitchy and often unplayable.

Get the “On the Dark Ley” lot trait

The “On the Dark Ley” lot trait increases your chances of having vampire babies when a vampire conceives a child with a human Sim or another occult.

In other words, this lot trait helps a vampire and human couple have more of a chance of their baby coming out as a vampire.

Otherwise, it will be a coin flip.

If only one of the parents is a vampire, there’s a 50/50 chance that the child is a vampire.

With the “On the Dark Ley” lot trait, there’s a 75 percent chance that the offspring will be a vampire. This means that 2 out of 3 children will be vampires.

Happy Simming!
