If your Sim loves knitting, they can knit a handmade sweater for their significant other. However, gifting them that sweater may trigger the dreaded Sweater Curse.
But what exactly does this curse do?
Let’s find out!
The Sweater Curse is a gameplay feature in The Sims 4 that increases the chances of couples arguing and breaking up. The curse lasts for seven days and during all this time all romantic interactions will go wrong.
For example, your Sim’s partner will suddenly start to use mean interactions and get Tense around your Sim. Long-term partners will suddenly start to dislike each other for no apparent reason.
The Sweater Curse is a common superstition among knitters. It says that giving a hand-knit sweater to a significant other will destroy the relationship.
The devs took this superstition from the real world and transferred it to The Sims 4 to spice up the gameplay.
How do you get rid of the Sweater Curse in Sims 4?
To break the Sweater Curse in The Sims 4, max out your Sim’s Knitting skill. After reaching Level 10 of the Knitting skill, your Sim can unlock the Forbidden Sweater that will end the Sweater Curse.
Maxing out your Sim’s Knitting skill takes a long time. Additional knitting patterns will become available as your Sim levels up the skill.
Knitting will become as easy as a walk in the park with time. To make the whole process more enjoyable, have your Sims listen to music while knitting.
You can also teach other Sims to knit and mentor them to help them become better knitters faster.
⇒ Quick Tip:
If you own Cottage Living, you can use llama wool to negate knitting costs.
Happy Simming!
