The Sims 4: How to stop ghosts from breaking things

The-Sims-4-stop-ghosts-from-breaking-things

There are many things that can get your Sims killed in The Sims 4. Soon after they hit the bucket, Sims will turn into ghosts and continue to haunt your household.

Getting unexpected visits from ghosts can ruin your Sim’s mood. They often break household items.

Why do ghosts keep breaking things in The Sims 4?

Ghosts tend to break brings if they’re angry or uncomfortable. Angry ghosts have a red hallow around them.

As a quick reminder, Sims can die of Anger. The ghost of a Sim that died from Anger will constantly be Angry and wreak havoc when they haunt your household.

How do I stop ghosts from breaking things in The Sims 4?

The best way to stop angry ghosts from breaking things in The Sims 4 is to calm them down by talking to them and using friendly interactions. Befriend angry ghosts and they’ll stop breaking things in your household at least for a while.

Meanwhile, you can work on leveling up your Sim’s Handiness skill to reduce the time needed to fix broken items. Once your Sim has reached Level 10 of the Handiness skill,  it will take a very short time to repair things.

Even if you become good friends with a ghost, they’ll keep breaking stuff in your household from time to time. This is intended behavior to make the game more realistic and align with people’s claims about disruptive ghosts in real life.

You can also place their urns or tombstones in the family inventory. By the way, you can also build a graveyard on an empty lot and place all the tombstones there.

If that’s not an option for you, you can simply get rid of ghosts by sending them back to the Netherworld. To do that, click on their tombstone and select Release to Netherworld.

On a side note, even if you upgrade your household items to make them unbreakable, ghosts will still find a way to break them.

Happy Simming!
