The quickest way to get rid of a ghost in The Sims 4 is to click on their urn or gravestone and select “Release Spirit to Netherworld“. This interaction will instantly banish them from the worldly realm.
After sending the ghost to the Netherworld, you can destroy the urn or tombstone associated with them.
Things get a bit more complicated if you accidentally destroy the urn or tombstone before releasing the ghost to the Netherworld.
How do you get rid of ghosts without an urn or tombstone in The Sims 4?
If you don’t have the urn or tombstone that a ghost belongs to, you can’t get rid of them. They will continue to be part of your household and haunt the remaining Sims at night.
Ghosts will often break household items out of boredom. To mitigate the damage they cause, simply play them just like any other Sim. The secret to preventing ghosts from breaking household items all the time is to keep them busy.
As a last resort, you can delete the ghosts you want to get rid of but that will leave an empty slot in the family tree. It’s as if they never existed.
Navigate to Manage Worlds and delete the household that contains ghosts.
You can also use cheats to get the job done.
Press Ctrl, Shift, and C, type in testingcheats true and hit Enter. Then, right-click on the ghost and add it to your family.
Go back to the console and type in cas.fulleditmode. You can now delete the problematic ghost from your family.
Alternatively, you can try to resurrect dead Sims using Ambrosia. Make sure to keep an eye on their urn or gravestone next time they die.
