After spending hours in CAS creating your Sims, there comes a moment when you realize all your Sims look the same. That’s called the “Same Face” syndrome.
This syndrome affects townies as well. Many of the premade Sims suffer from the “Same Face” syndrome.
Of course, you can edit townies in CAS to add more visual diversity to your game.
But that doesn’t solve the problem.
How can I avoid the Same Face Syndrome in Sims 4?
To avoid the “Same Face” syndrome and make your Sims look unique, you need to use traits that make them unforgettable. Don’t go for pretty faces from the get-go. Use uncommon face shapes and characteristics such as long noses or prominent chins and build from there.
Use traits specific to different ethnicities and races, and select features that you don’t usually find attractive.
Using just one ugly feature won’t make a good-looking Sim ugly. However, it will make them stand out.
You can also use the random option and take it from there. Avoid using the same face, eye, and nose shapes for all your Sims.
One of the best ways to avoid the “Same Face” syndrome is to play with the proportions of your Sim’s face. Slide their noses down, slide mouths up, move the eyes farther apart, and so on.
If you’re using mods and CC, don’t use the same skin overlay and blush for all your Sims.
If you have a favorite CC, you may tend to use it a lot without even noticing it simply because it makes your Sims look pretty. The same is valid if you have a favorite eyebrow or eye shape.
If you keep using the same characteristics, your Sim will end up impossibly perfect and strikingly similar.
You can also make custom eyes to create unforgettable Sim faces.
Let genes do their job
You can also try for a baby with Sims that have strong genetics. That often produces unique-looking Sims.
The offspring is a nice blend of the parents. The game averages traits like hair color, skin tone, and eye color between the parents. Sometimes, kids strongly favor the traits of one parent.
The same is valid for occult genetics.
Happy Simming!
