The Sims 4: How to have a deep conversation with a Sim

If you want to become best friends with another Sim, you need to go beyond small talk. In other words, you need to get to know that Sim.

One of the best ways to do that is by having a deep conversation.

But this option is not available right away.

How can I have a deep conversation with another Sim?

To unlock the “Deep conversation” interaction in The Sims 4, you need to use 5-7 friendly interactions to build your relationship with that Sim. Having the Happy and Confident moodlets can speed up the process.

The higher your Charisma skill, the faster you can unlock the “Deep conversation” interaction.

Sims that have the Friend of the World aspiration can quickly gain the trust of other Sims and have deep conversations with them.

The following traits will help your Sim unlock the “Deep conversation” interaction faster: Outgoing, Cheerful, and Self-Assured.

From my experience, the best options to use to unlock the “Deep conversation” interaction are the following:

  • Friendly Introduction
  • Ask About Day
  • Brighten Day
  • Discuss Interests
  • Heartfelt Compliment

Having a deep conversation will further level up your relationship with the other Sim and unlock additional interactions.

If the Sim you’re trying to have a deep conversation with is not in a good mood, it will take longer to unlock this option.

Pay attention to your interlocutor’s reaction. If they dislike the interactions you’re using, stop using them. Apologize and use friendly interactions to mend your relationship.

If you’re still struggling to have a deep conversation with another Sim, this could well be a bug. Make sure to update your mods to the latest version. Outdated mods may sometimes break game features.

Additionally, go to your Origin library, right-click on The Sims 4 and repair your game.

Launch the game again and check if you notice any changes.
