Fix: Sims 4 garden items go into household inventory

If your Sim’s garden crops land in the household inventory every time they travel to another location, you’re not the only one experiencing this issue. Other Sims 4 players complained the same thing happens when exiting or saving the game. In other words, next time you load the game, your crops are in the household inventory, instead of your Sim’s inventory. Let’s see what you can do about this problem.

Disable mods and CC

It takes a while until mod creators update the code after a new Sims 4 update is out. Oftentimes, various game elements becomes glitched after installing a new Sims 4 expansion pack or kit. Move your Mods folder to your desktop, restart the game, and check if the issue persists.

Repair the game

If some of your files got corrupted, the game may not work as intended. Go to your Origin game library, right-click on The Sims 4, and select the Repair option. Close Origin, restart your computer, and launch The Sims 4 again.

Report the bug

If the game still puts your crops into your household inventory, most likely this is a bug. Report the bug to EA, and keep your fingers crossed. If other users already complained about similar issues, add a ‘Me too’ to the first post of the report. Hopefully, the devs will quickly patch the problem.

It’s hard to sell garden items from the household inventory

The most annoying part about crops and garden items landing directly in the household inventory is that there’s no way to quickly sell them all and make some money. Instead, you have to manually sell each item.

If you want to use the crops to cook something or try your hand at canning, you need to place them individually on the lot and then move them into your Sim’s inventory.

If you’ve got a big garden, we’re talking about hundreds of items. As you can see, this can turn in a time-consuming task. And I’m sure you don’t want to get carpal tunnel in the process.
