The Sims 4: How to make your appliances eco-friendly

Eco-friendly appliances can help you reduce water and energy consumption. This will reduce your eco-footprint and lower your bills.

If you have Eco-Friendly Appliances as one of the Neighborhood Actions Plans, you need to upgrade your household appliances and make them eco-friendly.

If you fail to meet the Eco-Friendly requirements, you’ll get fined.

How do I make appliances eco-friendly in The Sims 4?

You need Eco-Parts to upgrade your household appliance and make them eco-friendly. You can fabricate Eco-Upgrade parts, Common Upgrade Parts, and Plumbing Upgrade Parts on the Fabricator.

Click on the appliance you want to upgrade, and select the Upgrade button. Depending on your Sim’s Handiness skill, your upgrade options may be limited.

Level up your Sim’s Handiness skill and fabricate more upgrade parts to unlock new upgrade options.

Toilet eco-upgrade options

  • Add H2O Siphoner
  • Add Superior Flush
  • Composting Container

The H20 Siphoner will siphon water from the atmosphere and won’t rely on Water Utility.

The composting container lets you turn poop into compost for your insect farm.

  • Water recycler
  • H20 Siphoner
  • Upgrade the water flow regulator

To further lower your eco-footprint, don’t forget to install solar panels and dew collectors on your lot. You can sell or store excess water and power.

I highly recommend storing excess power and water. Ground solar panels can sometimes break and dew collectors may not always cover your household’s water consumption.

It’s best to be prepared for such scenarios.

Happy Simming!
